Anthems or Afterbangs???

Maybe, maybe not. but what we're getting at is that regardless of the 5mm difference, the two skis might feel completely different from each other. I can't say for sure how they'll feel since I've never ridden either, but my guess is they won't feel the same.

well my answer is this: A Bangs can't be any worse than Anthems. However, if it is a jib-ski with close to the binding flex points you want, get 09 or 2010 Thalls. Symmetrical is pointless IMO, and Thalls you could even mount center if you reallly wanted to(if you are just wanting to jib) but -1.5 or 2 would be best.

new they hand flex medium-stiff, but will break in fast and stay at that good buttery but not too overly soft flex. A Bangs hand flex stiff at first too, and from owners I have talked to they also break in fast but end up being much softer, about invader soft after a dozen days and stay there(at very soft).

If floatation is something you are considering, then look at the Anthem. Anthems are just fatter Invaders, so they will have that flex that you are looking for.

The Afterbangs are replacing the Invaders, so I would expect their intended uses to be the same. The gem of Afterbangs is the new 'skateboard' construction, which is designed to give the ski a unique, park oriented flex. Don't let that distract you though, you will still have a wonderful, tried-and-true flex pattern from Anthems.

when it comes to flotation in powder and softersnow, will that 5mm make a difference or not? even though they might feel different if the 5mm makes a difference in powder i will go for the anthems but i dont know because ive only ridden 80mm waist skis

Yes, it will help in deep snow. The Anthems are geared towards all-mountain jibbing, whereas the 'bangs are for straight park.

Sine you asked about floatation, I would say that the Anthem is the ski for you. It is a buttery park ski that brings a little more to the table in terms of out-of-park performance.

I am still thinking about the Chronics because they are better all-mountain skis but since i love doing butters i'm still trying to decide.

Yes dont worry, the A-bangs dont have a sensor that blows your feet off if you leave the park, you should be ok.
