Another "which lens?" thread..

so im pretty new to dslr filming, and im just about to buy a t2i, but here is the catch, i don't have much money so im looking to buy just 1 lens and then after maybe 2 or so months, when i get a few more paychecks i'll probably add another lens.

so i'll be filming mostly skiing at a dryslope ( mostly low light as the floodlights there arent very good)I've heard for low light stuff something like the canon 50mm would be good, but obviosly you sacrifice zoom because it is a fixed lens.(but then again im not going to be filming anything from much more than say 10-15m away so is a zoom lens 100% necessary?)

the other alternative would be to simply buy the kit lens with it and have slightly more to play around with, would that make more sense considering it will be my first lens?

any comments will be much appreciated!

fast vintage 28 or 35mm lens will suit your needs

do go any narrower than that on a crop sensor and handheld.
