Another Which Camera Thread

1.) I could go up to $900ish.

2.) I have helped my friend with a T2i and Panasonic HVC 150? I have never owned my own before though.

3.) I do have a tripod, nothing else though.

4.) Currently it's gonna be mainly for skiing, but I want to learn more and maybe do some photography and shoot other sports. (wake boarding, wake skating, cliff diving, and all the random shenanigans)

5.) My friends and I would do a combination of filming. We all have history of filming, I just do not have a wide knowledge on which camera to get.

6.) We do a good amount of follow cams, but I feel like it would be more of a tripod and hiking setup.

7.) I have a 13" Macbook Pro Dual Core with 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 processor

8.) I have Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop. I have a decent knowledge in these. Mainly used Sony Vegas in the past.

Thanks for anyone that helps me! +k

Panasonic TM700 with a manfrotto 190/701 tripod setup and a cheapish shotgun mic. don't let this camera's small size fool you, it's an absolute beast. i'd recommend torrenting adobe premiere cs6 for editing the footage.

note: if you can get a little more money, you could get this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/849371-REG/Panasonic_HC_X900K_HC_X900K_3D_Ready_Full.html instead. it's pretty much the same as the tm700 but with a little wider angle lens and a better lcd screen, and newer.

As stated above I already have Adobe Premiere. Is there a different DSLR that you would suggest? I'm not too thrilled on the hand handles like those

if you really want a dslr, your best bet would probably be a panasonic gh13 or gh2. a gh2 wouldn't leave you very much money for accessories though. and either way you will be limited to getting a few vintage primes unless you want to spend a lot more money. a canon t2i with a couple of cheap lenses would also be an option, but i would still way rather have the tm700.

if you're worried about the hand handles on a small camcorder, don't even think of shooting a dslr handheld. you can make or buy a very basic handle that attaches to the cameras tripod mount for very cheap, so that you don't need to use the hand strap thing.

I would personally go with a dslr such as a t2i or t3i. They are both great deals and bhphoto.com has a deal where the t3i with a kit lens and a 55-300mm lens and a photo printer for only 600.
