Don't know much about cameras but price 300 looking for a good beginner camera for ski and skateboard filming. I would like to get more into filming so a good starting camera. I would like my friends to be able to use it also. On mobile so this was probably hard to read. Thanks. Inb4 gopro

if you just want to film skiing and skateboarding i would suggest a gopro hero 3 silver. If you want to get into film making there aren't really any good options I can think of for $300. I'm not too familiar with consumer or lower end cameras though.

GoPro hero 3 black - $330

GoPro Hero 3+ Silver - $300

If you want more of a camcorder i would go with

Sony HDR-CX220 - $200

Thank you, what would you say my starting price should be if I am not looking for a go pro. And looking to get more into both filming and photography. But wouldn't want over 500 dollars. Thanks

Canon T2i.

Even our prophet recommends it:

i would go with a t2i or t3i then. I used a t2i for a couple years and really loved using it. its not hard to operate if you know photography, and gives you the choice of changing lenses. good camera if you want to set up to a more professional set up in a couple years because you can use the same lenses on most of the pro cinema cameras

You could look at the Nikon D3100 or D3200 as well, both shoot HD video, the D3200 is about 100$ more but imo its worth the extra 100 for the better specs. D3100 is about $400, 3200 is about $500
