Another "what camera" thread w/info

So I want to buy a SLR camera, I will fill out the "required form" to give you guys a little insight in order to help me out the best you can
budget - low, I was looking at the Nikon P80 because it's cheap and it apparently has good FPS for skateboard sequences (skiing for the winter)
experience - minimal
no equipment ATM (I rent out my school SLR, a Nikon D80)
this camera will mainly be used for sports photography
I will be doing %99 of everything, tend to keep my stuff to myself
I tend to take everything handheld, no tripod etc.
I use a macbook pro - late 2009 edition (intel mac) for editing
I use iPhoto? haha i'm not very "advanced"...
I WOULD be willing to take the time to learn about manual leneses etc. but I have a low budget so I doubt this would be necessary
again, I was looking at the Nikon P80 (I can get one with a fisheye lense, a wide angle lnse, stock lense, and extra batterie for $210 CAD) but I haven't been in this scene for a long time so I don't know what the new products are like, please help

 
Yeah dude, that Nikon looks like it would be good for your price range. Full manual control is definitely something you want to look for in a camera too, will give you room to advance. Although I think you mentioned SLR, and that Nikon isn't and SLR like the Nikon you renting from school. That means that there will not be any options for interchangable lens'. Either way it will produce good images and (should) be what you're looking for.
