Another pivot thread

I can’t decide between the 15 and 14. Really what I’m getting is the metal toe piece right? I’ve seen in a few threads that they release vertically different, is one better in its release?

Im 6’4 200 lbs so if it’s just a durability thing def gonna go metal but I have knee issues from sports so want what’s best for the knees.

the 15s/18s def have vertical toe release but it works differently than the 12s/14s and i can't tell you if one is known as better than the other in terms of vertical. but yeah you got it, it's the durability of the toe piece that you're choosing here. honestly they'll both be fine but if you want them particularly durable or you use higher DINs go with the 15s

That is something I’ve been thinking about. I have shifts on my touring ski but haven’t tried them. If I had them might switch it up

15s all the way dude. Like don't even look at 14s. Forget they even exist. Pivot 15/18 is the way my friend

The 14 can release "barrel roll" style out of the toe. The 15 is the single pivot style.

Lot of people talk durability between the two but it's so anecdotal, and both toes are plenty durable, so it doesn't really matter.

The 14 is a good binding, and the 15 is a good binding. Really just comes down to whether or not you wanna do cast.

For what it's worth, I work with/ski with a guy bigger than you who rips on skis and he's been on 14s
