Another La Nina winter coming...

That would be awesome. It seems like almost everyone had a banger winter last year as a result of La Nina.
 
"The better model performance, combined with the historical tendency for significant La Niña episodes (as in 2010-11) to be followed by relatively weaker La Niña episodes, leads to increased confidence that La Niña will persist into the winter. While it is not yet clear what the ultimate strength of this La Niña will be, La Niña conditions have returned and are expected to gradually strengthen and continue into the Northern Hemisphere winter 2011-12."

well for one thing a La Nina or El Nino has VERY little influence on the winter in europe as it relates to the temperatures of the pacific ocean, which is nowhere near there.
 
I was lucky enough to ski everyday the slopes were open so I got all the powder days... The best one was only about 2 foot around christmas time. Hoping for a better one this year!
 
east coast had a banger december and january but feburay and march sucked for snow. i wouldnt mind 2 pow days/ no school weekly for a whole month again though so this sounds sick

Ef. We hardly got any snow last year in comparison with the rest of your guys, la nina was a la nina for us.
 
Yea dont bother taking a trip to the PNW this winter, it will be horrible, tons of rain, stay away.
 
I remember that, it rained everywhere except colorado for one or two storm cycles. including utah/wyoming. gotta love that elevation.
 
Last winter jersey got a decent amount of snow. I got to go "pow" skiing at this sled hill. Even though it was really heavy, slow snow I skied pow.
 
long story short, the pacific ocean is colder than "normal" on a la nina year, so the water that evaporates off of it is cooler, therefore, more likely to accumulate as snow instead of rain in the winter time.
