Ok, so I have narrowed what I want to a Audi A4, Audi A6, or Subaru WRX. I love Audi's because they look more luxury, and I just have always liked the look, also I like the Subaru's because I think they are cheaper to repair, fast, and depending how its set up look pretty nice to me. What I really want to know is from anyone that has owned either Audi or Subaru, doesn't have to be the exact car, what are some repair bills? How much is it to fix up? What are some ups and downs of both brands? Good help = +K! Let me know! Thanks!

A Subaru is going to be cheaper to repair, and depending where you live its going to be easier to find a Subaru specialist who knows everything about them

Audis are dope, but I have a huge chub for Subaru

Agreed about the audi's. They are such nice looking cars. I promised myself someday I will own an R8 5.2L Quatro.

ultimately it comes down to your budget. If your spending 20-30 grand on a car then definitely go with a solid used audi. If your spending like 5 grand, get off yoru high horse and come to the realization that for that cheap, your never going to find yourself a solid audi or wrx because they cost a lot of money, and the ones you do find willh ave huge mileage on them. Kids these days.....yo i got 2000 dollars, im going to buy myself a 50,000 luxury car and look so cool.

No, I have a good budget where I won't wind up with a real high miled old car... plus a place that does work on audi's really close, like 30 mins away, and they don't charge a butt load like a dealer would, but still not sure what is better in the longrun.

i have an 08 a4 6mt 2.0t, what annoys me most about it is the oil, its actually hard to frind 0w-40 around my area, i find myself constantly having to put in oil, changing the oil is a bitch, but hey they r germans nothing is ever easy....besides that only problem ive had was my breather valve? i had to get it replaced, bought it with just about 42k on the clock, im at 63k now. Just make sure u keep up with the service on it, oh and it doesnt say in the manual but get ur cam follower replaced if u go with B7 turbo, apparently it really fucks ur shit up if it goes bad

If you choose audi just be sure to keep up with maintenance. If you do this the car will run forever

Heres my scoop on WRX's. I have owned one for the past year and a half and it is the most awesome car I have had the pleasure to drive (And that list includes 5.0 mustangs, my buddies sr20 swapped 240sx, a GLI, and random tuners). My friends 02 WRX has 170k on it right now with no major engine or drive train problems and its still running strong. Mine is at 110k and same thing, running like a top. A lot of people will say that the head gaskets blow at 100k, but that isnt tru. That was a problem that 2.2 liter outbacks had and for some reason they think that every subaru has that problem even though its a completely different engine. My repair cost havent been that bad for being an import. The most expensive thing that Ive had done was my clutch, and it was only $450 labor+ $250 for parts, which isnt all that bad considering they had to take my transmission out. Head over to http://Nasioc.com and search around on there, its an Impreza forum. Learn about the car and see if its right for you.

I loved my old A4 and I'm looking for a new A4 currently to replace my Durango, but I will say that when my A4 had to go to the shop for something (which was not super often) it was never a cheap job. between a parts mark-up because it's German and the labor involved because it's German, it adds up, but I still want another Audi in the worst way, In my opinion, they are completely worth it and you just have to find the right one and they will treat you great for years....For reference when I totaled my old A4 it was running perfectly with 205K on the motor and chasis and everything on the car still worked like it was new, you just have to take care of them and stay on top of maintenance and they will treat you very well.

Buy a brand new car.

It won't depreciate much at all in this market over the next year or two if you buy a 2013. So if you find another 20k during that time you can sell it and buy a brand new Audi.

You won't spend a penny on maintenance either.

All the audi fanboys are gonna yell at me for posting this but get the WRX. Much more reliable in the long run. I worked at an auto repair shop the last couple summers and I saw plenty of subies with 2-300,000 miles still going strong. This is something you will never see out of an audi. They break down much more often and they are very expensive to fix.

My father owned an auto repair shop for over 25 years and he always said audi's and vw's are are two cars he would never own because he would literally have people bringing them in every single day to get fixed.

we service audis at the shop i work at.

our labor rate is $95 an hour.

most general service places that will work on subarus are maybe $65-$80 an hour.
