Announced His Run for Presidency, Then He Skied Tuckerman's

See my above comment about your incessant posting and Bobo dolls. Admittedly I wrote that at three am last night while drunk and annoyed that I hadn't gotten any, however, look at your subsequent posts in this thread and it seems downright prophetic.
Now, do you have any idea how Social Security works? The $106 trillion number is a figure that the CBO came up with measuring underfunded liabilities of these programs over an infinite time horizon. They are not about to fall apart tomorrow and legislative changes will be made to make these programs more reasonable for a time with an aging population. When these programs were enacted, people's life spans were considerably shorter and generally worked until close to the end of their lives. Now that people are easily living another 15-20 years beyond age of initial benefits, there are bigger problems with the minimum age for receiving benefits.
Overall I think that you and I agree that these problems need to be examined more carefully and subsequently adjusted, but don't jump to conclusions based off of long term projections that you clearly do not understand. We aren't paying 100 trillion next year to keep this shit running. And while the social security system does indeed have a trust from which money has been borrowed, it has never operated such that the money that you pay in is the same money that you are paid back upon retirement. As always, the money we pay in now goes to those currently receiving benefits just as the working population will have to pay some level of benefits to us when we reach retirement.
I see that you have already made about 50 more posts in this thread with what are undoubtedly more erroneous claims, but I simply do not have time to go through them one by one. So instead, do me a favor and stop posting so much misguided economic shit on this website and go read a book.
On a different note, what the fuck kind of platform is "the athlete president"? First off, I want the brilliant nerd who has been in the library for the last 25 years running this shit, not some douche trying desperately to cling to his youth. Also, for somebody claiming all this athleticism, he clearly runs like a fat chick.

I'll give you guys a REAL world example of how manipulating wages affect productivity & efficiency.

Problem # 1: At the resort I work at we only pay a very small percentage of our ski patrol. The guys we pay are awesome. They have ropes and signage up where it needs to be well before we have to open the mountain and after that, they actually PATROL and love their jobs. The problem we have with patrol is that the people that we don't pay, at a certain point, they just stop giving a fuck. Free lift tickets is no longer appealing enough to them to warrant a legitimate effort on a regular basis. So lets say we get 75% effort from our volunteers at any given time. If we paid them what they are worth, theoretically we could reduce our patrol staff by at least 25% and have a better 'product' to offer the customers. Job creation!!!

Problem # 2: Traditionally the crew that I manage have been seen by upper management as worth minimum wage. I get complaints EVERY YEAR about how any other job that requires the same amount of physical labor gets paid way more. This may be true but in the eyes of my CEO/GM that is not the case. So how do I MAKE them worth more money to the resort? Next season I'll most likely be cross training them in multiple different departments such as lifts & patrol as first responders. I did a test of these ideas this past season and paid returning employees just a quarter more. I saw a huge increase in efficiency and was able to hire about 40% less unmotivated slackers. Bonus!

See, this is the non stop blather I was talking about. I refuse keep wasting my time posting on ns about politics/economics. Arguing with you about this shit is like arguing with a Jehovahs witness about the absurdity of their religion. Logic and reason have no place here.

sorry but obama is still my guy. and whoever said its too easy to get by in this country, i disagree whole heartedly. in 2005 more americans declared bankruptcy than graduated from college, so obviously theres some problems here

As shown through examples above, paying employees more increases overall moral and productivity. This then brings in more revenue for the company who can then lower prices on goods and services and increase employment.

Jesus Christ you keep pulling me back in. When did I even mention minimum wage? How was that ever part of anything that I talked about? I just glanced at the shit that you did post and saw some accurate information with, as always, improperly formed conclusions. But I'm not writing another fucking five paragraph response only to have you once again change the argument to something completely different. If I talk about minimum wage, you'll try to fight me with defense spending or some shit.
I would think you were messing with me if you didn't do this shit all the time to the point that I actually recognize your ns time when I spend very little time on this site.

You are right, social security will not fall apart tomorrow. But if you look at future projections, it clearly is not sustainable with an increasing population where ~50% of American citizens don't pay income taxes.
What legislative changes would you suggest to make all of the entitlement programs more efficient? There are problems with raising the minimum retirement age. Unions greatly dictate when an employer under their discretion retires. For instance, my uncle, age 60, works in the Boston school system and is retiring this year due to union pressure. He still will receive 80% of his salary every year during his retirement and full benefits. So essentially, he had no incentive to keep working. Aging population or not, there eventually won't be enough money to go around.

if the Yuan is artificially low how can you cry about US inflation; it amounts to the same thing.

Read it.

I don't think you read the whole thing, so I'm going to quote part of it again:

"I did a test of these ideas this past season and paid returning employees just a quarter more. I saw a huge increase in efficiency and was able to hire about 40% less unmotivated slackers. Bonus!"

"In 1997, he took part in the Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii.[59] He went on to finish the Hawaii Iron Man five times,[24] the last time finishing the marathon run, 3.8-kilometre swim and 180-kilometre bike ride only two hours behind the winner.[33] On 30 May 2003, he reached the summit of Mount Everest[11] "despite toes blackened with frostbite."[24] He once ran 100 miles in 30 consecutive hours in the Colorado Rockies"

pretty good runner to say the least

Earlier in the thread it was mentioned that walmart employees are paid below the market level. I mentioned that I thought the walmart workers had low productivity because of their low wage. You said it was the other way around. You agree with me now? funny.

Did you know that a single worker needs 14$ per hour to make ends meet? If you lower the minimum wage you increase your taxes. Does that sound good to you?

Can you clarify the difference between market level and market average? If you mean that market level is the amount needed for workers come to work, I would like to mention that the ski patrollers were in fact being payed market level.

all the jobs that pay better are not hiring (because they pay better). Can't improve skills because that costs money which they have none. Enter illegal job markets and end up in jail.

that's a bunch of non-starters.

now what?

hahahaa dude, I don't understand your presence here... you're miserably failing with flying colors. You sound like a grade A idiot.

Just stop for your own good.
