Ankle weight effect

I recently bought some Kartel 108's in 191cm to use on softer days instead of my Kartel 98's. The 108's are absolute bomber skis and they are incredible in every condition. I have been skiing them a lot lately.

But I recently went back to my Kartel 98's and they felt completely different than I remember. Kept landing backseat and feeling squirrely on groomers. I feel like I am overpowering them now. Is this just like the placebo effect or will I never feel good on smaller skis again? How do you guys ride different sized skis on a regular basis comfortably?

Had the same thing happen here recently. We were getting absolutely dumped on and I was riding a longer, wider ski for almost two months straight. The last month we have seen less snowfall so I've been back on the shorter (still 188) skis and the first couple days it really did take some getting used to, I was feeling the same way on my shorter skis that you described. Just give it a couple days of good riding, you should get the feel for them back again.

this is part of the reason that even if i were rich, id only have a two pair quiver at most i think

switching between different skis like this can be a bit annoying at first. but yeah man you'll get used to your two pairs really soon and then youll be able to switch between the two pretty easily

Where do you have each ski mounted?

I had to get my kartels remounted and I put them closer to center and I felt that they were more squirley, so if you're 108s are back farther than your 98s then it makes sense.

Landing backseat is weird..

You probably have just gotten used to a fatter ski. I've been on my Jeffrey's a lot lately, just got back on my Kartels for the first time in over a month and it felt a little weird for sure.
