Animal Testing

I'm writing an argument essay on animal testing in which I need to pick a side on the issue. What does NS think about animal testing? Is it a good thing or bad thing? Why?

good thing. who cares if a fucking mouse dies testing a product that saves/improves the lives of thousands/millions of people

HORRIBLE. If you've ever seen that myspace bulletin thing from 4 years ago you'd know what I mean. The animals suffered horribly and were killed. And no I'm not a fucking hippy or anything, I just have a soft spot for animals.

No-one really wants to use animals in research, and no one would (or should) use them unnecessarily. But it does happen. Animal research is considered a last resort, to be used only when there is no alternative method. And with that being said I'm still against it becasue of what happens when people abuse it in some bizarre way.
