I'm just wondering if anyone else on ns have read this amazing book.

I had to read it in language arts class this year and it was one of the better books I've read. What does ns think of this great book?
 
I just read it a couple months ago and thought it was a really good quick read. I think it was a little too much on the literal side in its portrayal of the world's political situation at the time, but still ended up being interesting anyway. I'd definitely recommend it to most people, especially considering you can read the whole thing in an afternoon.

I do think that 1984 is still Orwell's masterpiece, but both books are brilliant in their own way.
 
its been alot of years since ive read it, but i really like it. something i think everyone should read. i agree with aenigma, 1984 is really where its at. but animal farm is cool.

has anyone read anything else by orwell? i assume it would be good since these two are classics.
 
It was a great book. That being said, I hated it. I hated knowing that the innocent animals were getting fucked over by the porkers. Common sense and connections to history told me that.

I felt soooo bad for Boxer. He was the fuckin man. RIP, I miss you (tear).
 
when i read the book a few years ago, i hated it.

but thinking back on it, it has some really good aspects about it
 
I just remember laughing at the dumbasses who had no idea of what the book was actually portraying. saying stuff like "why the fuck do we have to read some stupid book about animals"

a friend would respond by saying " yeah man this is like a 3rd grade book."
 
yeah i actually liked it, i felt so bad for poor boxer.

has anyone seen the movie, ehh the pigs gave me the creeps
 
i read it 4 english, and it is easily one of my favorite books... Snowball didn't seem like the vengeful type tho, so i was kinda confused when the first windmill was torn down...... but definitely a great read
 
yeah i read it my freshmen year in high school. i definately thought it was a good book, and it puts across a good message.
 
my ex girlfriend in grade nine read it and wouldn't shut up about the damn thing I don't really care for her much now and because of her I haven't really got to much respect for the book though I'm sure it isn't bad she just ruined it for me
