Angle for flat down flat rail

So I'm making this rail and the first flat is about 1 ft 9 in high and the last flat is at about 6 inches high so what angle would be good for the down part? Also is it better to have the last flat of the ground or is it just as good just on a 2by4 and pipes? Thanks

How smooth do you want the kinks to feel? I'd say go anywhere from 20-40 degrees depending on how sharp you want them. Grab a protractor and kind of make the angle with the rails to get an idea of what it'll look like. Or you can ind of just free hand it on what looks good.

This, is helpful, thanks!

Make 3 separate rails, it makes transportation, building, and creativity much easier. I actually unscrewed a donkey dick on one of my rails for this particular reason. I have 6 10ft flat rails, a 5ft flat, and 2 2 foot ups. I'm stacked enough to make a six-kink.

Don't do this. If you build a decent size rail and hit it with speed you will die. 40 is fucking insane. Your legs will fall off.

How mellow do you want it to be? Personally I'm partial to 12/12.5 degrees. It's mellow and very trickable but still is a down flat, donkey or dfd. It doesn't feel like a rail that's just slightly bent it looks like a kink, rides like a kink but it's smooth.

If you make it too steep it becomes what I call a "survival kink". You just try and survive it instead of being able to flow it or learn tricks on it. You're like "Fuck yeah I didn't die". If you want a kink that's going to rip your legs off just go find a gnar urban rail and survive it, get a dope shot profit.

As far as the end it's up to you but I'd keep it off the ground. Also on the same note you could build it in 3 sections, high flat rail, down/up rail, low flat rail and it will be easier to move around or rearrange.

I wouldn't recommend going above 15 on the kink. 20 at the absolute max. Don't go above that or you're gonna have a bad time. IF you're building this it's probably to learn tricks and shred. If it's super steep and sketchy it won't be as fun/you won't learn as much.

What are you doing for lengths on the sections?

I built a 21' FDF out of 6"x2"x1/8" rectangular steel tubing and I went with 20 degree angle. I wounldn't go any steeper than that. You want the down section to be mellow so you can set up for tricks easily. The only time i'd go steeper is if I was building a pole jam or a wallride. Hope this helps. Post a pic when you're done. I and I think everyone else would like to see it.
