Andyju's Guide Idiot Proof Guide to Making Clickable Links

A lot of people are having trouble with creating clickable links; a lot of them dont work. so ive taken the time to create a guide to make working clickable links

IF YOU ARE USING THE NON FANCY GUI EDITOR

step 1: copy the link that you want. i have used google here. highlight the url, and copy

step 2: paste the link into the reply body, and reply

step 3: reply and enjoy your clickable link

IF YOU ARE USING THE FANCY GUI EDITOR

step 1: copy the link that you want. i have used google here. highlight the url, and copy

step 2: click the button that looks like a globe with a chain link in front of it. this will open up a new window, seen in step 3

step 3: paste the link into the bar, but without the http://. you can paste the link and use the backspace button to delete the http://, or you can just copy the link without the http://. THIS IS IMPORTANT

step 4: click Go, and the window will disappear. go back to the reply page. there should be one http:// in the link and the link should be blue

step 5: reply and enjoy your clickable link

THIS IS WHAT NOT TO DO IF YOU ARE USING THE FANCY GUI EDITOR

DO NOT FORGET TO TAKE OUT THE http:// IN THE LINK THAT YOU PASTE INTO THE BAR

IT WILL LOOK LIKE THIS IN THE REPLY BOX

IT WILL LOOK LIKE THIS IN THE THREAD

WHEN YOU TRY TO CLICK IT IT WILL NOT WORK

DO NOT FORGET TO CLICK THE LINK BUTTON-- IN THE FANCY GUI EDITOR, PASTING THE LINK DIRECTLY INTO THE REPLY BOX WILL NOT WORK. THIS IS WHAT IT WILL LOOK LIKE IN THE REPLY BOX

THIS IS WHAT IT WILL LOOK LIKE AFTER YOU CLICK IT IN THE THREAD-THIS LINK WAS NOT CLICKABLE

i hope this reduces the amount of nonclickable and nonworking clickable links, enjoy!

copy and pasting the URL from the navigation bar to the reply box has never worked for me in FireFox... too lazy to try explorer and others.

THE LAFEEFFECT TECHNIQUE:

1. Click on the Flash Video Embed Button.

2. Use regular HTML to make a link in the Flash Embed box (shown below). I am making a link to my searchbar plugins, which will show the text "Click Here." If you don't know HTML, just copy the code shown below, except replacehttp://nssearch.webs.com/ with your address and click here with whatever text you want (it is not necessary to have http:// at the beginning, but unlike regualr link posting, it doesn't hurt to have it).

3. Click "Add Video." Your link should now look like this:

4. Click on the "Flash Video Placeholder" image and hit delete TWICE. Your link should now look like this: Click Here To continue typing after the link, you must hit enter and start on a new line, otherwise you will just make the rest of your post into a link, but whem you are done typing, you can use the backspace key to move the text back up, as I did with this line.
