I have the HTC Incredible 2 and I really like it. It's smooth, clean, easy to use, and works well. It has an 8mp camera that takes great pictures and videos (iphone is only 4mp, not a big deal but worthy for comparison); it has a 16gig harddrive that fits all the music I really need portably and I can still hook it up to my mac and put music on it just as easily as with iphone/itunes; it doesn't necessarily have all the apps that the iphone has, but there are usually equivalents........flash works when you're on the internet. I also think the keyboard in Android works way better--it's a better size and it provides better guesses at what you're trying to say so you can shortcut/correct mistakes faster.
Overall, I think the Android platform is just easier to use...all the people saying their phones are shitty and whatever are missing the fact that their either not using it as they should be or it's really old and 95% of products you buy will wear down over time, especially compared with all the advances in technology just about every month it feels like.
And lastly, this is totally subjective, but I hate how the iphone feels. It's like a box in your hands with totally hard edges, especially with a case on it, whereas my phone has rounded edges that make it feel right at home in my hand. For some reason this was a really big deal to me, especially when Apple's other products' ergonomics work so well.
The guy at the verizon store told me they're basically the same phone cause they're going for the same price point, but the Incredible 2 picks up with those extras that the iphone is lacking. He totally had me sold and it was the first time i feel like a salesman has been 100% on point when trying to sell me something. Definitely wouldn't trade it for iPhone and would definitely buy again if I lose it (however, there's an app for that

("Where's My Droid" is a lifesaver!)
And if you wanna add an extra $100, get the Thunderbolt. My roommate has it and it's sick, basically the big brother of the incredible 2.
