And then she said...

In classic fashion I show up to a party last week with a new lady friend and one of our mutual gal pals in tow, while walking through the door the first face I see is the hippy I had been sleeping with for a few weeks before. At this point I did not think much of it because my lady friend was well aware of the situation and not once had I made any sort of promises to the hippy. We all proceeded to get inebriated and dance the night away, when I left I even stopped and chatted with my hippy friend for a quick second, feeling very content with how the night had played out.

Later the mutual friend told me how all night the hippy had been shooting glances in our direction, which kind of surprised me because it looked as if she had been with someone else at the party. And sure enough, I just received the message from the hippy about how I'm such a misogynist asshole and should never talk to her again.

Which brings me to the confusing part, if I only ever contacted someone for sex and then proceed to run into them with someone else, why would they think I'm going to be contacting them anymore? In this day and age of modern enlightenment, has the booty call become too much to hope for?

Just to be clear, if you tell me not to bother inviting you out but to just swing by when I'm finished drinking, that sounds to me like long term commitment is not in your future.

Sorry, not sorry to hippies everywhere

Did this with a girl in college, not a hippy, but I was very upfront, said we weren't going to date and this was strictly physical. She agreed and we pushed forward. When I had to end it all, she got really pissed, few months later I started dating someone, she got more pissed. Later I found out she had always hopped to change my mind and begin dating me. I tried to be honest and upfront, but it didn't work.
