And so, Rastafaride 6 (wha'happen) came today:

and it was fucking epic. not as cinematically perfect as lss, or as indepth, the segments in wha'happen were rather short, as the movie is, get this, only 28 minutes long. however, the music for the most part was good, and fit rider styles, the tricks thrown were sick, the things jibbed and hit were sick, all around rediculous riding by candide, and sammy in particular.

Anyway, to sum it all up, i thought it was on the same level as lss, or focused, or session 1242. Not comparable, because its a totally different movie, with a totally different agenda, and purpose, but phenominal just the same. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, it kept my attention, got my jaw to drop a few times, and made me want to go ride. really captured the whole enjoyable experience of riding. So, go forth, and purchase it.

The whole Rastafaride series from WW has been on my favorites for quite a while. 4 was sick, and 5 (the Pullup on Candide) was simply amazing. Its too bad they're so hard to get in the US, otherwise everyone would be going nuts over them.

probably not my style; tons of park, a few backcountry jumps at best. also, let's face it, when you say sammy's part is sick, what is it? is it a couple park jumps, a neato park rail set up, one or two urbans?

so many of you sweat the snowboard scene and say shit like, "skiers should take a note from snowboard films," then when w'happen comes out with small dumpy segments like sammy's you latch on and hold it to be the greatest. contradictions like this will only keep you guessing, "why can't ski films be more like snowboard films?"

one last question, did sammy even know he had a full segment in candide's part? probably not and that is why it is generic, incomplete, and only incredible because sammy is very talented.

you guys are so fooled by the efforts of skiing to produce quality full featured segments; half these pros don't even know when they are going to be in a film. do you think eero e. asked himself in november if he was going to be in the new mack dawg film? sorry, i quess that was my last question.

I would have to disagree. Of the movies I've seen so far, Wha'ppen was the worst (not to mention, that the DVD was horribly authored). Of course, I may like it better if I watch it a few more times, but the first impression wasn't very good. Long Story Short is, in my opinion, a much better purchase. The movie is better, and you get so much more cool bonus features.

i agree with the comment about the authoring of the dvd and yes sammys part is a touch limited, awesome non the less. but still my ONLY real complaint is that the film is too short.

i mean any extreme sports film (including snowboard films) have sections that you wish would be a bit more varried and really dvd authoring isn't that important... everything in this film is super, it makes you wanna go ride sooo much and there is groundbreaking stuff in it. by the end you just don't want it to stop.

i don't think it's the best all round purchase but basically it's got a rad vibe and it get's pretty jaw dropping.

ps. the candide invatational stuff looks even bigger without all the flags, photographers, contestants etc. so good.

that double pretzel 270 on/switchup/switch out sammy throws on the stairset is unbelieveable.

yeah, they are semi hard to get in the us, but someone came on here and posted a link for international orders, so i couldnt refuse.
