An idea to reduce toe bang

So after hucking a small cliff today I got a very unpleasant pain in my toes. I pulled a brain buster and forgot to buckle the bottom two buckles causing my foot to jam up against my boots. I know that right fitting boots will stop toe bang but this was a fluke.
After that i started think about ways to reduce the pain when your toe/toe nail hits the boot and thought of this.
Having a normal ski sock (thin but thinker at the shin and more support on the ankle) but when i looked at the tow i noticed it thiner that most normal cotton socks. My Idea was first making the toe as this as the shin but then thought that wouldn't do much, so then i thought adding a type of firm memory foam.
there would by a thin and firm layer of memory (or any material like that) foam sewed around the 3 points where feet would touch the boot. Big toe would have the thickest, middle would be semi thin, and the small side (little toes) would have a thin layer.

Well is this a good idea or am i just crazy?

Sorry for any grammatical errors ive been running on low sleep for a while.

It is a good Idea but I don't have enough room in my boot to add any more sock, I think it would be a better Idea to have it built into the boot rather than the sock.don't land backseat and you won't get shinbang or toebang(not that is that easy all the time, haha). Also make sure you wear a toe cap when you get your liners molded.

i was getting raped by toe bang last year so i went to a boot fitter and he said to get thin socks (i was using thick ones) and tighten up my lower buckle (i have spks) and it totally worked!

so yeah, thin socks + tight lower buckle = :)

Yeah, making shit thicker wont do anything, your toes will still bang right through it.

the only reason thats a problem is your boots dont fit, a padded sock is useless

and yea spks have the rubber

what ive always done, thats worked really well is use silicone (either cut up Dr Scholls, or the tube kind from home depot) around the outside of the liner's toe box.

just to add, ive noticed the rubber on the new spks, landings that normally would hurt don't.

yeah i dont really have the extra room in a boot to add foam either, but havent had the new spks, the rubber really helps you say?

The best thing is to make sure your foot is properly supported from underneath. I know footbeds have been mentioned above already, but it's the best recommendation to give you. And then not all footbeds are created equal - make sure you get one that supports your entire foot, not just a small portion of it (like a simple Superfeet). If your foot compresses it will slide forward into the front of the boot. It doesn't really matter what features are a part of the boot, you're still dealing with a problem of physics- a flexible structure inside a rigid one. Your best bet is to stop the motion at it's source - by stabilizing your flexible foot.

buy a proper fitting boot, get footbeds, and buy a new boot once the liner has completely broken down.
other than that, the idea of the new spk pros might be a good idea however im not convinced its worth the money until i read a ton of reviews on it. (talking about the rubber toe box)

The rubber on the spks pros is sweet, on my pro models you cant really see it until you press on it cause its black but when you do its really nice, the rubber is soft and bends real nicely

loose buckles equals movement. Movement in the foot equals toe bang. strap your buckles down and get a snug fitting boot size.

no one knows more about trying to prevent toebang than kbrando. message that kid for one hell of a story

I get the worst toe bang. Cutting my toenails doesn't really do anything. I'm pretty sure I just need new boots. Even though the boots that I have now fit?

how about billy mays' IMPACT GEL? i thought of it but i havent seen the infomercia yet so i dont know where to call t get an awesome deal.
