Hola! As some of you may or may not know, I'm head honcho over at artificialskicompany.com. We have 4 pairs of our Nurture series that are up for grabs for 250 dollars a pair due to blems. Namely, these four pairs were slightly out of alignment when pressing. Our tolerance for error is zero, and chances are, these skis will never present any issue over their life. Each pair has never been mounted and is brand new aside from said blemishes.

That being said, each pair is being sold WITHOUT our 1-year warranty, but WILL come with a unique invoice that grants a 20% discount on any product for the 2012/13 production year (and yes, that includes skis).

PM me if you're interested and I'll get a payment invoice (via paypal) set up in a minute. Thanks!

Below, the four pairs of nurtures. One pair has a normal white-backwash topsheet, the other three without the backwash so you can see through the ink to the core of each ski.

Below, the worst of any blem that you'll find. These were our early pairs - notice the color discrepancy in the sidewall (due to then-unrefined sidewall beveling techniques) and the tightness of vertical lamination.403879.jpeg

Ski hard!

Sorry - Site has specifics. We only offer the Nurture in a 181 at 122-90-122. 20 cm tip/tail progressive rocker, 6 mm of camber, and a 6.5/10 on stiffness with directional flex.

For online orders, yes. However, if I set up a private sale through paypal, I can charge for just the skis and then send you an additional invoice for the exact price of shipping.

Very, very interested.

I was in the market for a k2 Domain or Revival in a 179 - I know it's tough to compare, but...?

Thanks!

(perfect feedback as buyer)

As far as length and genre, yea, these are meant to compete against the revival more-or-less. People ask me, "Tyler, do you use the skis you build?" Well shit yes I do! I've tweaked the nurtures for 3 years now and am over-the-tip satisfied with the nurtures. They carve on a dime, are stiff (because you don't want too much flex on so much rocker for a park/all mountain ski) and really stable. Keep in mind a 20 cm progressive rocker on the tip/tail leaves around 140 cm of running length. Combine that with a symmetrical ski and the finished product makes you ski very aggressively to stay on the epicenter of the elliptical sidecut. Park, crud, bombing, carving. This is not on par with the afterbang - only similarity symmetricity.

FUCKKKK

I might cope

For $175 shipped you can't go wrong.

Hmmmm My a-bangs are looking a little shitty.

Threads to see what happens.

I've been getting a lot of PM's regarding 'what's wrong' with the skis. I'm here to clarify.

1. The press itself has zero issues with alignment. This would insinuate that every pair that came out of would be misaligned - this is NOT the case.

2. The misalignment is due to slight sidecut differences between the base and core. As a result, (and we're talking about less that 1 mm here) vertical lamination is not as tight as in 99 percent of the rest of our normal, non-blem skis. We see this to be the case because the glass is heavy between the layers of lamination in a few places. Reference the picture above. Other "blem" issues are limited to slight indentation in topsheet where a drop or two of epoxy was pressed into the top or slight discoloration in sidewall as shown.

3. We will NEVER sell a pair of skis that is structurally compromised. It's pointless and wastes your time, my time, and money for us each. When we use the word blem, we mean cosmetic, and we guarantee any blemished pair of skis to perform exactly the same way as a normal, full-retail perfect ski from our line would.

Sorry for the confusion guys!

bump for a legit company, sounds like the skis are pretty legit too. Not to mention these are made with BAMBOO, the best material ever to ride on! IMO haha

This man speaks truth. It's unheard of to get a pair of hand-made bamboo skis for 175 bucks, even if they are blems. Very light for their size and flex!

PM'd. And yes, for everyone else, I should have laid out specifics in the original post. All dimensions and specifications can be found at artificialskicompany.com.

The nurture comes with:

181 size only.

122-90-122

6 mm of combined aggressive camber

20 cm progressive (think powder) rocker.

Mix everything together with a stiff core, bamboo, and a 90 underfoot platform, and you have a bomber all-mountain freestyle ski. Think steeps to crud to park.

Received an Echeck via paypal which will likely clear in the next day or two, in which case the last pair will be out the door. I will write in to confirm. Thank you everyone for the interest! We'll have skis ready to ship out by early fall for the 2012/13 season so stay tuned.

All skis are gone. We have 1 pair of the natures left via artificialskicompany.com. 1 pair of natures and 1 pair of nurtures (brand new) will be available come March -- they are currently being used for flex referencing for next year's line. Thanks for the interest everyone!
