Im looking into getting a new computer for gaming, and right now im thinking about going with the amd 3500+. Do you think its worth it to upgrade to the 3700+? what are the benefits?

Id say so if youve got the money. Its gonna cost you. The advantages are basically faster, better, etc. Price point is what you get with processors now a days. Look it up on amd's site or PM me more about it. I know comps really well Im just a little lazy right now to get into detail

The benefits aren't as great as the cost. Though there are improvements, the difference is minimal. Take the saved money, and invest it in another portion of your computer (video card, ram etc) and the result will be much better.

i'd go with the 3500, you'd be fine with a 3200, what you really need to focus on which will be more important than your cpu for games ithe gpu. aka video card, look for something new and sick, if you have a crappy video card your great cpu isnt gong to do much, i'd get a nvidia 6800 or the newest ati whatever it is.

yea video card and RAM are more important. I've got a 3000+, Geforce FX 5600 and 1 gig ram and still run all the games of today at high detail. So I wouldn't be concerned about getting the 3700, that's a waste of money
