So far disappointing,

spike strips managed to make a car do multiple flips and son dude just woke up alone in a hospital, stolen from 28 Days Later

But on the good the zombies look really cool

anyone else watching? it is on AMC right now
 
I was just about to make this thread, then searchbarred and saw that you had made it literally ten seconds earlier haha. I think it's gotten off to a bit of a slow start, but it looks like it might be pretty cool. I'll probably watch it just because I love zombie stuff.
 
so, it got off to a bad start with me when they wrecked a perfectly good GTO for no reason other than backstory. i mean, they could have used any old piece of shit there, but nope, lets destroy this mint ass GTO for shits and gigs.

then on top of that minor party foul, they completely ripped off the beginning of 28 days later. i mean they werent even coy about it. it was like ok, you walked into my party and you spilled your beer on my carpet: i can overlook that, but then they pissed in my houseplant, fed my dog pot brownies and fucked a greasy fat chick in my bed. not cool anymore guys.

after i got over those two infractions, i found it pretty enjoyable. i think this could really be a great series.
 
It was on the TV when I was at the gym tonight. I didn't have sound, but it looked relatively entertaining. Gonna need to watch it again to pick up on the audio and whatever plot I missed out on.
 
I thought it was amazing, but i'm a sucker for anything with zombies. I don't really mind the fact that they took the 28 days later intro because the similarities stopped there. Can't wait for next sunday :D
 
Despite the incredibly blatant 28 Days Later intro rip off, I thought it was a really sick show. I also love stuff about zombies. Its gonna sound a little weird, but every time I watch a really good show or movie about zombies, there is a large part of me that really hopes there is a Zombie apocalypse at some point in my life when I am relatively young and can be a badass mother fucker.
 
If you didn't know, the show is based on a fucking awesome comic book, and the bed intro "ripped off" from 28 days was a homage that the editor pushed for the authors to do.

I thought they fucked up a lot of things, but also improved many things with minute details and the main actor seems perfect for the role. The comic is not so sluggish and it's way more serious. Let's see what happens from now on.
 
I thought it was a really entertaining show.

That being said, I'm fucking sick of the zombie/vampire exploitation shit that's happening. I hate that zombies are cool now and have been cosigned by the majority. I used to watch Dawn of The Dead and nerd out, and now I can't walk into a fucking Borders or B&N without tripping over a fucking display table full of nothing but cheeky winkwink zombie apocalypse trash.
Next kid with a zombie sleeve or tat in plain sight is getting fucking one hit quit. DOUBLE that if it's a sexy zombie nurse thing or stripper.
The only good thing? The ONLY? Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
 
The most interesting thing about the comics wasnt the zombies and gore. It was the people being badass motherfuckers and sorting their way through the crazy ass drama. The zombies are just the backdrop/excuse for awesome violence.
 
Exactly. Whats better than a television series showcasing an unexplained zombie outbreak with tons and tons of violent and gruesome zombie killing in its unholy awesomeness?
 
i didn't know that this new series is beginning based off a comic but the first episode was good, it is nice to have a good show to watch on sundays
 
the slowness had to be for the development of the characters. sorry it didn't have gratuitous gore or explosions to keep your 5 minute attention span.

i really hope Richard is around for more than just one episode, i could see him being the Boardwalk version of Omar from The Wire...sooooo legendary
 
My buddy had a couple of the comics so I got to read one of them, its pretty good as a book.

The episode last night was alright, nothing amazing but I think the series will be good.
 
Not to bad...a little slow but I'm sure it gets interesting. The guy who did shawshank redemption is producing this so hopefully it will be interesting
 
I finally watched it and I'll say that I liked it. Gonna need a few more weeks to determine if I'll continue to like it.
There were certainly plenty of those "who would DO that?" moments, but if you can't suspend disbelief, don't watch a zombie drama.
 
after watching this i started watching another show on space channel and it was literally the British version of this same show, only ridiculously funny and a lot more gory. I honestly found the walking dead completely disappointing.
 
I enjoyed it, even if it does take some ideas, it's still much better than most of the other crap that qualifies as entertainment on TV.
 
You don't talk shit about Dexter! haha. But I do miss Rita. I think Dexter and Walking Dead are going to get better. I'm also a sucker for zombies.
 
SPOILER ALERT!!! ha for anyone not wanting to know.

So far the cops wife has banged the dude in their camp. The cop was rescued by a gang of survivors who now dislike him for attracting the zombies with gun shots. Some hick tried to rebel but they cuffed him to a pipe on the roof. 2 survivors have gone down to the sewers in an attempt to find a way out of the building they are now cornered in because of zombies.
 
Pretty sure that Sheriff Grime's wife is fucking his old partner, and it was the Asian kid that was on the radio in the tank. Grimes made his way out to an alley to meet the kid and they got inside some building but the zombies know they're there. Now they're trying to see if they can find a way out.

why dont they barricade the main door to buy themselves more time before the zombies get in ?
