Am I too old?

Hey all, Ive been skiing for around 5 years now and want to get into park skiing. Im now 20 most of my friends that ski park have been doing it since they were like 12. I can do some rails but find that my skill progression is very slow. Any other skiers out there that started late?

EDIT:I landed my first backflip the year after I posted this which was 3 years ago. Currently I can grease any rail at my home mountain and front swap or 2 out of most of them, additionally Im getting better every weekend at hitting rails switch. Its fucked that I thought 20 was too old to do anything. I just did what everyone was telling me to do the whole time. Go fast and commit.

Great Edit Shwany - NEVER TOO OLD. Ski Fast, take Chances!

This thread is a load of bullshit kind of.

I'm 26, hucked my first backie last year, and my progression is somewhat quick. I think the biggest factor is more that I don't want to hurt myself and be unable to work and pay bills.

EDIT: I was hitting rails since I was like 15-16 but I was not super into it until I graduated college. I guess a lot of it depends on your passion for the sport.

I agree completely, you'll see in my edit that I said as much. And since this is getting a lot of comments lately everyone gets to see how stupid I was when I was 20. Yeehaw

this is pretty much it IMO. you can't really afford to get hurt when youre a bill-paying adult; i can't, at least. physically, though, if youre not capable of shredding then that's your fault

probably way harder to LEARN the sport when youre older tho, i imagine
