Am I going to die?

Will I survive a cold ski day in harlaut pants? I heard some people saying that they are not waterproof. It says they are water repellent(on the website) so I am not sure. If no what would be some of the other options?

Harlaut pants get soaked very easily and wind comes straight trough them. I have stayed warm in them with merino baselayer in -20c

the whole state of pants these days has me completely mystified. y'all talk about them more than anything else and pay crazy prices but y'all are also always like oh yeah these ones don't have pockets, oh and these ones arent waterproof. wtf happened lmao it's like we went back in time

Nobody makes good looking gore-tex pants, I don't want to look like a middle aged man. I have 2 pairs of pants, one gore-tex for touring, freeride and shitty conditions and then harlauts for everything else.

They get a lil soggy but those liners are so damn warm, almost to a fault. I know people who cut it out and just wear the pants as shells

Instead you want to look like a genie.

They’re totally fine for me in low 20’s Fahrenheit while it’s actively snowing, and I’m not wearing a base layer under. If you’re really worried about it, just buy a $10 spray bottle of nikwax or DWR and make them super waterproof.
