Am i getting screwed?

I have thought about my situation and I am fairly sure someone is screwing me over, but I might just be overseeing something

Last week I won 157 el rays(way to short for me) and broke my AR7s. I went to the ski shop that the el rays where bought from and I got my AR7s from (proctor Jones Nassau NH) I sold them back the el rays and got 230 dollars in store credit, and they said they would send out my armadas for free to get warranted, they said it probably would not get warranted so look into getting a new pair. I really loved my ar7s until the run the tail snapped and I wanted another pair. About a week later the ski shop called me back and said armada did not warranty my skis.

At this point I was kind of frustrated with armada, so I called the armada HQ and asked if there was any way they could give me a discount on a new pair. They asked where it was shipped from and I told them, and they hadn’t received any skis from them in the prior 2 weeks.

Am I wrong to assume they didn’t ship the skis out just to get me to get skis there?

spark notes, I think a local ski shop is screwing me over but I’m not sure

Ask your local shop if they ship them, if they said yea, ask them why they HQ didnt received them.

definetly go to the shop. if they've had ample time to ship them out, then ask to speak to a manager or something, if they've shipped, reference the armada HQ phone call and say they haven't gotten them, so voluntell the shop to call the shipping company and find out what is up. as long as your polite but firm it should be fine.

so, assuming that Armada told you something different, call Armada back, give them the name and address of the ski shop, and tell them what the shop has said. see if theres maybe a mixup amongst the guys at armada.

if this is true, that they wont replace them, you can always contact Armada directly and ask them to replace them. worked for me with Salomon.

I'm interested in hearing more about this, threads for when OP gets back from the shop. I hope everything works out for you.

Well there is a discrepency then, you need a name from the shop of who they talked to at armada

ask for an email from armada, that way you have something on paper to show the shop.

if you call armada you should be able to talk to tyson pretty easily, he should help you out.

You're getting screwed summon the hell hounds and fuck their shit up. but seriously don't go in raging be calm and chill, they will most likely work things out better if you are chill rather than raising hell.

thats shitty man I broke my el ryes and my local shop sent them in two weeks later I find out they shipped them to the wrong place but my local shop gave me a pair of ar7s but they are too big for my liking and now I'm using my old skis:/

Dont go into the shop all angry straight away. Skis do not always need to be sent away, photos can do, as can the shop staff just chatting to armada. It may also have been a rep cam in and looked at them. 1 week is way to quick for them to have been sent away. We quote 6-8 weeks for all warrenties which are sent away.

So they probably have not been sent away, but this does not mean aramada do not know about them. Dont assume the shop is screwing you.

ok, so i went to the shop and walked around for a few min and found the most clueless employ and told them i had dropped off a broken pair of AR7s the week before and i was wondering if they still had them. she walked into the back and as he was waking out with them the guy that was there when i dropped them off ran over. he said they had sent them off and then armada had shipped them back and said they could not do anything. then while he was talking more bs to me he started walking over to the park skis, thats when i said i said that i had called armada and they never had them(in a polite tone). i told them i didn't want any other skis then AR7s(they dont have any more AR7s) and i wanted them to be shipped to armada this time and armada to call me back. they assured me they would ship it out and gave me the mangers number to call in a few days when he is back in the shop to make sure they are shipped

So they actually weren't shipped? I mean it sounds like it, how could they possibly make it to armada and back in a week. OOPS!

Sorry, no one else did it.

But yea... 250 store credit? Thats BS... you should talk to them

And this thread is the reason why you go to KEN JONES SKI MART in MANCHESTER, you would never be dealing with shit like that there. As for you getting screwed you deff are please go in there and resin with them so you get what you deserve which is a new pair of skis. Also, before you sold the el rays you should have contacted armada asking for a size exchange sometimes they will allow for that especially if you won them in a contest.

i would go to ken jones but in the pre season i got AR7s for cheaper and thats where the el rays where fromand the el rays where last years, and i want AR7s

Damn 230 is a great price for el reys....(for the one buying not selling).

*I am most likely going to buy el reys as my next ski.

Holy shit, this is my local shop. So they said they sent the skis out to Armada, when in truth the skis just sat there while the people made THEIR OWN assesment of your skis to avoid the hassel of doing the right thing and shipping them? am i hearing this right?

Unfucking-believable, ths shit really pisses me off. The guy that said they were shipped out, what did he look like? I know most of them.

armada is also sketchy, my 2012 thalls were starting to delam after 2 months id say, so i took pictures and sent them to armada, i got an email back the next day saying to call them and we would work somthing out, on the phone i was told to find my order # since i bought them online and email it back since i could qualify for new skis and i needed the address to ship my skis to, i phoned back with my # and i havent heard from armada since febuary like 7th, after sending multiple emails, phonecalls, and my parents calling them.

thats my story, still no word back.

fuck you armada.

I feel like there is always more to stories like this...but if thats the truth then that really does suck and isn't cool.

If you've ridden them lots and snapped them then unfortunately you're probably not going to get them warrantied. My guess is they probably phoned their rep/emailed some photos and they took a look and decided it was a no go (a legitimate thing to do). However telling you they were going to ship them off etc is a bit cheeky!

i doubt they will warranty them because they are fairly beaten, but i have heard they give discounts to people with broken skis that are not warranted

They shouldnt have told you that they did ship them but I bet they just sent pictures to Armada and armada said no no no on the warranty.

how did your armadas break? was it an impact? some result of terrain park abuse?

because if that is the case, it won't be covered under any warranty, regardless of what brand of skis they are. you kids think you can slam your skis on whatever you want and the company is just going to say ok here's some new ones. its not the way the world works.

is the shop screwing you? probably not, but who knows. its pretty clear if you read any warranty that it doesn't cover beyond factory malfunctions/ delaminations.

the moral of your story, ride park have fun. but dont think your skis are invincible. if you have any interest in making them last, keep that in mind.

Thats not the moral of the story at all dude. He caught them in a lie. They wanted to sell him a pair of skis and that wasn't going to happen if armada gave him a new pair, regardless of whether Armada was going to or not, they really weren't if the shop never sent them!

if they keep putting you off get your mom to go in there or call them. moms always get results. no one wants to deal with an irate mother. call it what you want but it works without fail.

I hate making public call outs but this was pretty shitty on my end of the deal.

So in the summer of 2011 Armada asked me to make an Arcast up on the Whistler glacier. Due to unfortunate circumstances such as weather and other complications I was not able to get the shots needed to make an edit.

They then asked me to get some shots of Maude Raymond for one of their product reviews, I shot a day with Maude and got the shots needed. I sent them the footy and all I asked for in return was a coat or some piece of outerwear. I waited months and kept on shooting them messages asking if something was going to eventually show up for winter.

3 months into into winter, 6-7 ish months after I gave them the shots I finally got something in the mail, it was a hoodie and a few movies I wasent mad stoked but dont get me wrong, I liked the hoodie but I had already seen the movies. I tried on the hoodie and it didn't fit, thats when I was just incredibly un pleased.

Sent some messages (politely) saying how it didn't fit and I wasent to stoked, told me to never contact them for jobs ever again in a pretty rude mannor.

Changed my whole perspective on the business side of filming, that whole dilemma makes me not want to help out any company for shots again.
