Am I an Idiot?

I just bought a pair of 2011 K2 ObSETHed's from EVO for $363.00 total.

Problem is, I live in Massachusetts. I mean, I never ski park and usually ski whatever tree runs that I can whenever I head up north to Jay Peak and such.

Other than that though I don't have much available for backcountry type skiing. I mean, I would ski it 24/7 if I could, it's just not close by. So normally I end up hitting little booters and cruising groomers. How disappointed am I going to be with the obsethed's?

I mean, since they were $363.00 I don't think I could really be too disappointed... haha.

But were they a complete waste of 363 bucks?

Haha luckily I have the money because I was already saving up for a new pair of skis since my old 4frnts are chipped a shit ton. Either way though, On cruddy days I can use my 4frnts and on the rare pow day that Im up north I can use the obsetheds.

I didn't mention this, but if I can ever save up enough, I'm dreaming of moving out west. These would definitely come in handy then... haha.

Some day...

I've heard that they carve really well and hold up on high speeds in almost any condition. So I think you'll be just fine, no personal experiences tho..

Thanks for the help too. I've actually watched a few videos now of some guys ripping around on groomers with them, and obviously it's not ideal conditions for them, they still seem to hold an edge pretty well. It'll be a lot different then what I'm used too because really on hard pack the effective edge is only like 50-60% but I'm not going to be using them all the time either. I'm thinking I made a good choice, even though they're more geared for what I dream to ski vs what I realistically ski. They still seem like they'll work well for the little backcountry that I do ski too.

I was just having buyers remorse right away that's all. Haha.

Thanks again guys and +K

for that price go have fun! I personally think fat skis are fun on groomers, of course I am also terrible at carving so..
