Alta or Snowbird

I'm planning on going to Little Cottonwood Canyon for 5 days soon and was just wondering where I should spend the most time. What are the benefits to each mountain, and where should I stay? Keep in mind I'll be going in spring.

I’ve never been but my one friend never shuts up about how good Alta is, he said he didn’t really like snowbird but it was because of the visibility that day

Definitely deer valley. Half as much snow so you don’t have to worry about getting stuck in the powder, no terrain park or snowboarders so you don’t have to worry about stopping under a roller to snap a pic for the ‘gram, lower elevation and less vert = no altitude sickness, and very limited avy prome slopes so little jimmy is safe. Plus the food is good so you don’t have to drive down lcc at 1030 to get lunch in down town salt lake.

actually tho they are both fucking awesome. If you hate traversing and slower lifts I guess go snowbird, else I would check out both. If you only have 5 days I do feel like Alta takes a bit more time to figure out idk tho both are amazing.

As someone said above, I'd give both a try. Both mountains have their own thing goin' on. I find Alta more fun in the spring tho

I love bird so much. More Vertical, lots of great terrain everywhere, and tons of super gnarly lines to scare yourself on. I have their season pass because of the length of season. Skiing through May every year rocks.

Alta is awesome too though, and Patrol is super chill with kickers being built everywhere. They're both awesome, and if you get good vis on either resort you'll have a great time. Hit me up when you're at Bird and I'll show you around!
