Does anyone have ace of spades or dead money's? I was really looking for a comparison between the two. i see that the dead money is softer, is cheaper, and has a different sole. I'm not quite sure how the sole affects the boot besides walking. I still need to try these on, but REI has an amazing return policy if I do something dumb.

someone has got to know something. does the changing flex thing actually work? I'm thinking few people have these.

REI doesn't have full tilts for some reason.

full tilts and nordicas should not both fit your foot well, as nordicas are way wider than the fts. if the nordicas fit you right get them. they ride super well and most people on ns would be perfectly fine with the lower flex, i ride the double six's which are their softest boot and they work fine, even though i raced for years, but first off GET THE BOOT THAT FITS BEST. hope i kinda helped

I'm in NJ. So no big mountain. I've only tried on the booters though and they were a bit wide which is why i think the nordicas would be better. I still can't find a place to try anything on. been to 3 shops and no one has 25.5's.

I'm in central jersey. I might just wait till next year though unless i can get something good since I do have to back to school eventually and once that happens I won't be skiing.

I have the dead moneys and i personally love them, super comfortable, soft but still firm enough, shock depletion and less shinbang then my last boots (technica agent). i say dead money because they are cheaper and i dont see a big difference but i also have never skied aces

Your best bet is to go see a bootfitter at a reputable ski shop. Of course buying online is easier and cheaper, but the extra time and money is worth it. First, the bootfitter can change the boot shell to fit your specific footshape, and if they are good they will invite you to come back if there is a problem. Second they will often switch out the stock insole and set you up with an aftermarket insole trimmed to fit at a discount (check out your stock insole you will see that it offers little support). Lastly they can even make you a custom footbed that you can even use in future boots.

Build a relationship with your local ski shop because they can help you find a comfortable fit, even after a couple ski days.

Think about it. What the point of spending hard cash on a fancy boot without guarrantees of a proper fit?
