Alpha-1 Sizing

Hey guys. I'll make this quick:

I'm 16. Type III all mountain skier. Live on the West Coast. 105 pounds without gear on. Beginner to park, but I will dedicate this whole season to progression in the park, and judging from how fast of a learner I am, I'm sure I'll be a good park skier in no time.

Bought the 176 Alpha 1's and spoke to several people who worked at my local ski shop about park skis and each of them said I might have gone a little bit too big.

Are they right? Should I have gotten a shorter length?

If my question/info sounds vague or incomplete, please feel free to ask any question. Thank you for reading my post.

Nope, those are fine. Bigger is always better if you're not sure. It forces you to become a stronger skier. You're still growing, so you'll get more use out of them, and because of the shape of the alphas they ski much shorter.

How tall are you? I ride 171 Halos (same ski w/ different base and flex) and I feel they may even be too short with the rocker. You are probably gonna be fine. I think the people that told you they're too long aren't taking the rocker into account.
