Allround touring ski?

Im 15, 5.6 feet tall, 125lb. I am looking for a pair touring skis that can handle everything from a foot of powder to windpack and crud. These skis will double as my pow skis, when it is fresh snow in the resort. Im from northern Norway so i guess the skiing conditions are like a good winter on the east coast of 'murica, five to eight days of powder per season. I like the skis to: handle a bit of speed, varying turnlenght, be light, playful, stable, tear windpack apart, handle some pow and little bit of groomers. Skis Ive looked at: 4frnt Hoji, Armada Tst, Salomon rocker2 108, K2 backdrop, next years k2 shredittor 112.

Can you guys chime in? Any advice?

Well if you're looking for something in that same basic width that isn't a pig on the hardpack, I'd say you should check out the following

Praxis BC

Praxis Freeride

Worth Magics (fkn favorite ski ever)

PM Gear FAT BRO

PM Gear Lhasa

ON3P Jeffries

I personally would rather buy from indie companies so my considerations usually only contain choices from small manufacturers. You may feel differently, bu those would be my go-to choices to start off.

I think TST would be good. I'd take for touring the Turbo instead of the Hoji. Also the Exit World will be a good option, but if you don't got really deep pow you won't need a fat ski and it will be easier to tour. Also take a look at the Walk Free by Surface. I don't like K2 much, but that's just personal preference.

For touring I'd personally take a ski around 100 underfoot, because you still need to go up.

Providing you're not planing on going switch on them, either the above or maybe some ON3P Vicik Tours would be my pick.

No light ski will handle crud and windpack well, so you're going to have to compromise somewhere. And none of the skis you listed are light.

Thanks guys, keep em coming. I think it will be really fucking expensive to ship praxis, onp3 ect. to Norway so ill mostly look at the bigger brands such as k2 and salomon. Do you know any indie brands that are sold to europe?

Well, I know that ON3P is shipped to Blacksheepsports, a shop in Munich. You could go to their site to look if they ship to Norway. I actually don't like Salomon and K2 because they're built in China (Fuck me, I got a ski built in China, but it was the best option). I'd have a look at Head (bring the hate), Atomic (I forgot about them in my last post), Fischer (probably the Watea; bring the hate again) or Nordica. You should get them easily in Norway

if youre looking at the shredittor 112, might as well check the kung fujas..

and look at sport-conrad.de hardcore deals and its where I got mine.. they got even cheaper when i went to the cashier

As said, you won't find any of the suggested skis super light, but then again they shouldn't feel awefully heavy. I think the praxis freerides are ~9lbs and the Praxis BC are ~8.5lbs. Not sure about the weight on the vicik tours, anyone know?

I know this will probably sound stupid or spammy, but I am helping to test a ski right now for Worth skis that defies that compromise more than any I've ever tried- The Magic. It's got a pure carbon layup for nice snap and light weight and a shark nose tip for punching through the crud and chop- it's designed to be lightweight but be stiff enough to charge that type of shit with minimal deflection.

It's more about the overall shape when talking about charging mank and chop IMO. Big square tips like you will find on Moments and Whitedots get deflected a ton more just because of that big flat square tip as opposed to a pointy one. Some camber helps too, so looking at flat skis is kind of a nono imo as well if he's looking for a one-ski setup.

Look also at the Faction Candide Ski. The fatter one for pow. They say it's a lot lighter than they're other skis.

yeah I have taken a look at it. 800gr lighter than the 3.zero. But the rocker profile looks prehistoric, 20cm of rocker that ends in the steepest tip profile Ive ever seen.

I don't know. If it's good enough for Candide, it's good enough for me and I hope I'm gonna be able to pick up a pair soon
