Hey guys whats up, this year i am planning on getting the ar6 in 181 and I'm also looking for more of a powder/all mountain ski.

I was looking into the following skis

volkl Gotama in a 183

k2 Seth in a 179

Jp v.s Julian in 178

scratch bc, in w/e size around the other ones.

Location= east coast, but frequent trips out west.

height= six feet and one half inch

weight= 174 lbs

If i could just get some advice from people who know about the above skis or if you have tried them..thanks alot, happy thanksgiving!

Gotamas rock, but they are hot right now so they're $$ and hard to find.

Seths are super fun and good for your weight, 179s are a bit sketch at high speed in crud though.

JP Juliens are too light/soft to ski well anywhere but in the fresh pow.

Scratch BCs from last year would be sweet, the new WRS ones are a bit soft/light to ski hard all mountain on.

If you like softer skis the K2 or the Rossi are good choices. If you like something a little burlier go with the Gotamas or maybe some 183 4FRNT VCTs.

The VCT is a very similar ski to last years gotama (new gotama changed a little bit), and some guy is selling his 183s on here for 300 bucks. Drilled once, used 4 times. Because, as skimasterflex said, Gotamas are expensive and hard to find in sizes about 176, I would pick up the VCT.

Seth Vicious 179 is also a good choice, but if you are on a 181 AR6, I dont think you want to go shorter for pow/all mountain. Especially in a Gotama or JP vs Julien (they ski short)

Two options. Seths are obvious, and probably the most versatile. Prophet 100s are perhaps a better pow/all mountain ski. Pick one, you won't be disappointed either way.

Shit, didn't read your stats, defintely do not go under 180. You can for sure handle 183 VCTs, 185 Scratch BCs and probably 188 JP vs Juliens (although I admit they arent as versitle as the other skis mentioned here) and the 189 Vicious.

My choice still stands at the VCT.

yeah go longer, its a twin so you loose running length and your also a big guy, i would say atleast 185, check out this years guns, the SVs, maybe Ants depending if you like a stiffer ski

oh and to add on a little, im 5 11 ~175, demoed the 183 gotomas last year, then i was probably 5 7 ~155, but for me they seemed to soft for everyday use

I don't know what you like for waist on your skis, but if you want stiff and all mountain, do everything check our MSP's. Might not be as wide as you want tho.

All the skis you picked are fairly good choices. Out of them I'd go with either a 185 BC or 189 Seth. Gotamas would be super sweet too, but they're hard to get and this year's have more sidecut. Of course, that still probably leaves the turn radius larger than any of the others, but you are much more likely to find a deal on any other ski.

189 SV, or 190 gots they both ski shorter and your tall enough to beable to throw emm round. After a season om the 179 SV (175lg 5,8) i want a bigger ski.
