All I Can...what a joke

Maybe so. I felt it watched like a climate awareness commercial, and didn't watch like a ski movie. I was constantly getting impatient with the plethora of time lapse shots. Maybe I should have smoked weed for those. Nonetheless I got to the end was like, "that's it!?" The climate thing awareness thing just got blah blah blah to me. There are enough politicians, TV shows, documentaries, and articles about climate change already. Personally, I don't think the topic should make its way into ski movies, at least not with such force. People that don't know, see, or partake in skiing very much or are less spoiled with other skis movies might enjoy All I Can more than I did. But that's just like, my opinion, not fact.

aha, ahahahhah, ahahhaha

well at least now i know to never take another one of your posts seriously...

for me, allican and one for the road were my to fav films of the year

I thought All I Can was hands down one of the best films last year. Its nice to see someone get creative with it, and not make that same shit people have been making for years. Props to Sherpas!

I kind of agree, at least on the basis that I probably don't feel like watching it again very soon, or maybe ever. I took it more as a well done /nature/travel documentary than a skiing film, and I thought it was great as a one-off thing - just not something I'd feel like watching again, much like many non-skiing movies.

I was glad to see an environmental message, but that is not really what I want to get into.

Anyone who says the skiing was subpar is out of their minds. Those guys were absolutely killing it, particularly Kye Peterson. Kye was throwing down 7's off of AK cliffs, and stomping, which is pretty sick. He also skied some pretty big lines, particularly the one at the end. The skiing in the movie was up there with any of the other big mountain flicks. I'm not going to say better, but arguably so, depeding on what you want to see.

I liked the time lapse shots, but I can understand people not being into them. When I watch ski movies, it is usually for a segment or two, not the whole movie. I find myself fast forwarding over the time lapse shots. That does not mean they are not cool, I just won't watch them when I want my ski porn fix.

Most of my cardio exercise is done outside, but when I am forced to do cardio indoors I like to bring the ipad and watch a ski movie while I'm on an eliptical. I don't watch all.i.can as much as some of the others, because of the long lapses. I tend to fast forward to the skiing parts. That is not to say the shots aren't cool, I just don't always want to see them. When sitting down to watch the whole movie, I like the lapses.

Overall, I really liked the flick. I can't believe anyone would criticize the level of skiing, as I thought it was top notch. In fact, I would have given Kye Peterson the best performance award over Sean Petit, though both were sick.
