Alcohol in SLC/Utah

so im gonna be in SLC all winter and am going to be turning 21 down there. i hear all these rumors of having to join "clubs" at bars to be able to drink, and that the brew is half the usual alcohol content. are the ski areas less harsh on alcohol policies or is it the same everywhere.
So basically, whats it like to drink in Utah, and what are the differences from other states?

you dont have to be a member of a bar anymore they got rid of that about two year ago right before new years. The beer in supermarkets is 3.2 by weight. You can get good real beer at the liquor store. Not a big patron of bars but i think you can get served a real beer at a bar but dont quote me. Yes it is possible to get drunk in utah and there are a lot of really good beer companies out here and they make some strong and tasty brews.

The beer is .2% less alcohol than a normal light beer. The members shit is over, only bummer is you can't get a double at the bar. But you can definitely get drunk and will have fun.

you can order a single with a shot on the side at a lot of bars and just mix it in if you really want a double. and yeah you can hardly tell the difference in cheap beers and the microbrews are great out here.

yeah, that gets expensive. The only time i drink doubles is when im out of the state and i just do it because its cheaper to order a double than two singles. Buying an extra shot probably costs more than the actual drink, especially if the drink is the special.

You can definitely tell a difference. The shit beer tastes even worse than it's shitty full weight cousin. I swear they just mix it with water. But there is always plenty of Pyramid Haywire at liquor stores, so that still keeps me happy.
