al qaida confirmed that they masterminded the yesterdays trainbombings in madrid.. it was considered as the worst terrorist attack in europes history..

anyways i searched the topics o this site and found nothing, so did ya guys even know about it, or did they broadcast it in american tv channels??

no its around, nytimes had a few stories, and it was on cnn too. it was confirmed by al queda though? man, i'm sooo pissed, i was supposed to go to spain this summer with a school trip and we were going to travel by train, but i think its going to be cancelled now. did they give reason for it? where did you hear that?

Spanish media and authorities described the attacks as “our own September 11�, but were divided as to who was to blame. Some newspapers stressed the possibility the blasts could have been retaliation by Islamic extremists for Spain’s involvement in the US-led coalition in Iraq.

The news of the possible Al-Qaeda involvement sent sharemarkets and the US dollar plummeting, and made oil prices spike.

Foreign Minister Ana Palacio told French radio Europe 1 “strong clues� suggested ETA involvement, she added Spain could not completely rule out the possiblity that Islamic radicals were behind the attack.

That theory was strengthened by a report from London-based Arabic newspaper al-Quds al-Arabi that it had received a claim of responsibility from Al-Qaeda.

A stolen van was discovered Thursday containing seven detonators and a tape with Koranic verses in Arabic 35 kilometres (20 miles) from Madrid.

Al-Qaeda claims everything that happens was done by them, they even claimed that the blackout we had last year was caused by them. THey look for any excuse for a reaction, i don't think there is enough proof that they did it yet, if they didn't do it they still got a reaction to get the US's fears up, i say we call NEON PINK alert, everyone be scared don't trust anyone lets listen and believe everything the media says.

I don't know if it could actually be al quida. It seems that every bombing anywhere that happens is al quidas doing. it's just pretty much helping with bush's reelection. i don't know

Nope... its 200 dead. 1000 injured. my history class talked about this today, there are 3 groups it might of been...

the ETA was the most likley because its in Spain, where they roll, but this wasnt like the usual ETA attacks... it wasnt called in before hand, and it was 200 dead, their biggest one before was 15 dead.

The second group is some random islamic group that i dont remember, but they dont think its them, because they took responisbility for the blackout (not alqueda) and another bombing that was obviously not them, so they think they just take blame for everything.

THe last is alqueda. THey have the most believeable note... with the koran scripts and stuff, and i think it was them... they said they were just getting attention and warming up for something bigger called a black death. so i am scared.

yeah i know ist not sure yet, and i dont believe media, from everything i read(bout 20newspapers per day) i collected the info for my opinion that it was al qaida.. and thats scary that it was just warm up, for something bigger

The Observer

The Madrid bombings which killed 200 people were dramatically claimed by the Islamic militant group al Qaeda early on Sunday morning.

The Interior Minister Angel Acebes said police had recovered a videotape. 'It's a claim made by a man in Arabic with a Moroccan accent,' he said. 'He makes the declaration in the name of someone who says he is the military spokesman of al- Qaeda in Europe.'

The man on the tape says: 'We declare our responsibility for what happened in Madrid exactly two-and-a-half years after the attacks on New York and Washington. This is an answer to the crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq. If your injustices do not stop there will be more if god wills it.'

I read 4 or 5 newsources everyday. Avoid American newsources, they are terrible. FoxNews is probably the worst, followed by CNN. That's just my opinion.

It is far too soon to say for sure that Al-Qaeda is responsible for the attack. ETA is still a suspect. Also, don't rule out the idea that the attack was a collaboration between ETA and Al-Qaeda.

today i got an sms from news service that said eta is ruled out, they dont have enough recources or guts to do this big bombings.. but yeah it might be eta, al qaida, or some other islamic terrorist group.. but most of the evidence points to al qaida

Its too early to rule out any group. There will be a full investigation.

For all we know, it could have been the spanish socialist party's plot to gain a higher voter turnout to win the election. 30% of votes are counted and they are ahead.

Right now, Al Qaeda has the strongest evidence against them.

I really don't know in depth information about the members of the Socialist party to make any calls on how ''ballsy'' they are. It only takes one radical member (which left-wing parties tend to have a few of) to act outside of the wishes of the party. It could also just be a business person who would benefit from a Socialist party being elected.

Although I enjoy reading and thinking about conspiracy theories, I don't believe them.

when i meant i know them was because i live fairly close to the region were supposedly all their movement began(the basque country),i've been seing their way of acting ever since i was born,know their ideology,and man,it's not like if im talking about something like alqaeda,because those people from Eta are from where i am,and i kind of know what they want and how they get it.

I don't know man.It wasn't them for sure.We all know it wasn't them.They woud have said it was them,among other things.

Plus the evidences are pointing at Morocco right now.Sub-divisions of al qaeda.

Those are very good points. Its very interesting to get the opinion of someone who has immediate exposure. It's something you can't always read in the news.

I'm aware of the Morrocan evidence. Currently they believe it's either a Morrocan cell of Al-Qaeda or some morrocans with affliation with Al-Qaeda.

Oh, and the Socialist party now for sure has won the election. Something that was not predicted to have happened previous to the attack. The attacked caused increased voter turnout (then what was expected) and this increased turnout helped the Socialist party.
