Airbags and broken edges

I am supposed to hit an airbag this weekend. I have some edge missing underfoot, and I have heard that at some places you are not allowed to use the bag when you have edge damage. What are your guys' experience with this?
 
Most places make you put your foot up so they can look at the base of your ski, usually they just give it a quick 1-2 and let you go. You should get by but the bags rip pretty easily and your won't be the most popular guy if you are responsible
 
I was up there and i was so pumped to try it but it was closed for the season so I just said screw it i'm doing the zipline
 
ive hit several different airbags in whistler, they come through here pretty often in the spring and especially in the summer with all the glacier camps...i think most of the time i was hitting them i had some edge missing, and ive definitely never had my skis checked before. but i suppose it could be different in other places
