Not official yet but i was talking to one of the camp directors today and he said that theyre hetting an airbag pretty soon, as in by this summer.

I wonder how that will work. Hopefully they can pull it off because it's be sick but working with snowflex seems like it'd be a pain in the balls.
They all generally seem to be set on a flat pitch. Seems like it would be pretty hard to make it work on that booter.
The best bet seems that if they put it in another place like the bottom in the flats and then built another kicker to land in it. Maybe that's what they're doing?
Like I said would be sick. Glad to here that places is doing such good business these days. I really gotta make it back down there one of these days. I always say that but 5 years is too long.

nah, as long as they actually did the jump right and made it steep enough you would have plenty of speed from the top of the tubing magic carpet.
If it happens though it'll make a christian college in Virginia one of the most progressive places in the US for summer skiing.

RUMOR CONFIRMED. I spoke with the camp director yesterday. They're building a drop in and putting up an airbag. It will only be available to campers this summer, or at least that's the current thinking.

It might be open to the public when school starts back in the fall, since they actually bout the bag instead of renting it. They don't really have a plan for that yet.

tbh i don't really know how they make money, i always assumed they got funding elsewhere (school, state, other?) to keep it going. now this was prob 2 years ago, but everytime ive been up there it was $5 max (after coupons/discounts), and if you had a season pass from somewhere it was free. so if we rolled up with a group of 6 maybe two of us paid $5, the rest went free and we were nearly half the people on the slope during that 4 hour period. maybe we just went non-peak times but it just didn't seem like a sustainable business model

Want to know the secret? THEY DONT. Snowflex basically operates at a loss every day from normal business transactions. Snowflex's funding comes from Liberty University's student affairs budget. (this includes all university recreation facilities) This money comes from the tuition of students. Also, and I'm not 100% sure on this, but usually with these kind of things, the money you pay to get in when you're not a student doesn't go into the facility itself, but rather back into the master student affairs account. Weird huh? BUT IT WORKS.

They don't make money on snowflex. They lose a shit ton of money keeping it open. However, Liberty has a massive amount of students who take courses online, so they have a ton of tuition money that doesn't go towards accommodating actual physical students. Which means that they get to have cool shit like snowflex.
