my mtn opens real soon i wanna 5's and hand drags. i can spin a pretty dees three but for some reason i just cant bring the 5 around i get like 450 sometimes but i spot hte landing at three and cant bring int around. i also can do 1's no problem so it sjust connecting the extra spin.

and for hand drags idk really how to do them do i just lean back and carve a little and pop off the tails off a roller or landing or somethign and just put ur han down?

lets start with your 5s. im sure your just blocking your rotation with your arms. like spinning on a swing set, if you pull your arms and knees in your going to spin faster and if you open up some part its going to absorb your rotation and slow you down. so dont let a part of you body fall behind and absorb. spin as one dont break upper and lower body.
so what you should be doing right now b4 the hill opens is get on a tramp or just jump on the floor, and try doing tucked up 3s and 5s. remember to pull your KNEES TO CHEST NOT HEALS TO BUM. next step is to take it up a step and try it at the pool diving board. 5s arnt just 3 plus 180. Its a thing we call timeing and every trick on every jump has its right and wrong timing. its timing the trick so you dont get burned. half the trick on the way up and half on the way down. you cant just learn timing you need to practice, practice practice.

What about the hand drags? I'm trying to learn them at the end of this month when I finally get to go skiing and I'd hope for some help before that

Hand Drags(caution this my hurt the shoulder or hip)
1) Find a good long landing the longer the better with a good sharp Knuckle.
2)Find your speed. Do a couple passes and find out how much speed you need to jump from about 5-10 feet back from the Knuckle to the middle of the landing. just high anoph to clear it. Be careful you dont go sending it to the flats.
3) Now feeling good about your speed try doing 180s over the knuckle.
4)feeling good about 180 its time to move on. Start getting lower and lower on your 180 to the point you can almost touch the knuckle as it goes by.
5)understand the trick. The point of dragging your hand is to re-direct your feet from going over you head and getting away from you. There's no reasion to jump 3 feet in the air then you cant reach the ground this trick just skims the knuckle
6) now get low and as your coming in think about letting your feet get out in front then your going to pull them back down to the landing your arm and squeezing you abs side ways. at first its going to seem quit gay. but as you get more comfortable youll find you can go faster and deeper.
think smart dont go to fast and send a huge horizontal dead sailer to the flats. like all tricks its about timing.
watch some in the moves and compare it to these notes. study the trick look for key things like contact points with the snow and where there head is looking.
