Agressive Rollerblading: Not For Everyone?

shit_just_got_real_by_dbzsgtjustin-d4ge0j2.jpg

pretty much anything is for everyone.

think about how many people do it. if you wanna do it, then whats the problem? its not like every other rollerblader is a wizard or something.

stupid thread is stupid.

just try it, you wont be pro the first time. but if you think you can improve and you like it then go for it.

Go for it! It's not a huge Initial investment and its really fun. It definitely is similar to skiing, but you'll find it helps a lot with your landings over anything

rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppppppooooooooooooooooooooooooosssssssssssssssssssssttttttttttttttttt

rollerblading is for pussies who are too scared to drop in on a skateboard. it's also convenient for those who are too uncoordinated to ollie.

No action sport is harder than another. Tricks are different and there is always some trick harder that you can try. Tricks get harder not the sport.

Blading is so fun, your fall alot learning haha, if you just try it all. I love to bmx and skate sometimes as well...butright now I enjoy blading

hahaha, yeah is that why rollerbladers were able to do 1260s and double california fuck it rolls 8 years ago? because it was really, really hard? pfft, you're a joke.

Skateboarding, if you're falling kick the board away and land on your feet, rollerblading, you have no choice but to try and ride it out.

hahahaha, do you have any idea how fucking stupid you sound? there's a reason why fruitbooting is dead. stop kidding yourself.

such a ignorant skateboarder thing to say. Europe has a HUGE inline scene. Just because not everyone wants to fall into the skateboarding bandwagon/trend doesnt mean their sport is dead. look at scootering for christ's sake. Its the stupidest sport to ever have existed, and yet it is thriving. with or without your hate.

yup, thriving alright... if this is alive and well, i fucking hope it stays that way... and so does a majority of humanity.

and as rollerbladers you can learn a few basic tricks within the first month, so you don't end up looking fucking retarded trying to kickflip for months and months like most skateboarding kids i know.

I dont quite understand what you are trying to say because this is the internet and I cant judge sarcasm. however, if you opened yourself up to new things you wouldnt be such an ignorant asshole.

quit bitchin and go skateboard if thats what you like doing. here we enjoy rollerblading. deal with it.

yeah that's because skateboarding is HARDER than rollerblading. it's not skateboarding's fault that you sucked so bad at it that you had to switch to fruitbooting.

i love how kids claim fruitbooting is harder and then you come along to claim that a reason its better than skateboarding is because it's easier... hahaha

i say you do whatever the hell you want to do and if some kid is doing something diffrent then you then judge them after they ride...

no thanks, i think i'll keep my butt hole closed and stay away from fruitbooting. plus i've got better things to do like nail guacamole to my eyeballs.

sadly, i don't recall ever saying that aggressive skating was harder than skateboarding. quite frankly, aggressive rollerblading is 10 times more dangerous than skateboarding because of the bigger drops and higher rails. while skateboarders can drop significantly large distance, there is not debate that aggressive skaters can gain more speed, therefore dropping longer stairs sets and so on. also, aggressive skaters hit higher ledges and rails than any skateboarder could ever dream of doing. while skateboarding exhibits flat ground tricks, along with grinds, aggressive skating is oriented mostly on grinds, with drops and spins as a lesser practiced trick variety. there is no doubt in my mind that aggressive skating is much more dangerous and scary than skateboarding, however i do not believe that either one is "more difficult" than the other.

your argument is invalid as well, because I have never skateboarded. i have used a longboard for transportation purposes and did not find the basics of riding a skateboard/longboard to be difficult at all, so you also cannot claim that i'm biased because i've never been on a skateboard.

that being said, some may argue that due to the increased risks of aggressive skating, it is, in fact, more difficult than skateboarding. quite frankly, the average height of most grindable features in skateboarding is 1 feet to 2 feet off the ground. 1.5 feet is about the lowest feature any aggressive skater would use, and even so, it would be solely for practicing new grinds. my final point, grinds to drops are nearly unseen in the world of skateboarding, yet they are a standard type of trick in aggressive skateboarding, along with other non skateboarding tricks like wallrides and switch up grinds.

Oh for god's sake, fuck off. People skateboard/inline because they find it fun. Not because they think it's harder than the other, or because they have something to prove. Who gives a flying fuck? You're probably that asshole who makes fun of people who just started skiing and can't 270 on yet. You must feel so great about yourself, knowing that you do a harder sport.

bahahaha... yeah kid, sure.

if you have to put "aggressive" before the name of what you're doing, then it's dumb. DUDE BRO LET'S GO DO SOME EXTREME AGGRESSIVE BLADING, BRO!!! GO DO A BLIND SOUL AND I'LL FISHBRAIN IN YOUR ASS!

we put the word aggressive in front of the name simply because it distinguishes it from freestyle rollerblading, normal rollerblading, and inline rollerblading. but no, you're right, you must not be a huge fan of freestyle skiing and other "extreme sports".

in all honesty though, great comeback. great argument you've formed yourself here man. you've got a very well thought out thesis and good support points/facts to back it up. I mean you can argue all day about the names of tricks too, i don't really care. Hippie killers, bindsouls, soul grinds, fishbrains, caspers, boneless', finger flips, hurricane grinds, rodeos... just about every sport has silly names for certain tricks, even the sport you're attempting to defend.
