Yeah, they're park skis, which is pretty much the only thing you do east coast besides groomers. Prophet 130's are too wide for the east coast, and you could still use them.
does your dad use all 4 edges effectively throughout turns?do his tips tend to roll over?does he keep his skis on a parallel yet non-linear course?
just tell him you have no idea what this means (even if you do know) so that it doesnt matter what width ski your on because you won't notice and neither will he.
and tell him my everyday ski is 92 undefoot, even though im on the west.
an 88mm waist ski was considered a fat ski 10 years ago, so don't blame him for thinking that...tell em "times change pops!", and then have him demo Prophet 100s, it will blow his mind, promise.
my home mtn is Smugglers' Notch and my everyday ski is some old school Seth Pistols w/ a 95mm waist. you're old man is just stuck in the past. if it's your money that you're using the buy the skis...buy whatever the hell you want to ride on. my next ski I buy will be over 100mm waist. a friend of mine rides gotamas everyday and those are 105mm.
yea man i would consider 88's a smaller to normal width for a park ski. but its true the times have changed and it really doesnt matter too much about with, just about how hard you shred it in the park
