So i am trying to do this shot where it is panning across trees from left->right and one tree that is relatively close to camera there will be a ski/wintery scene to the left of the tree (that is close to the camera) and the winter/ski scene will grow into full screen mode as the tree goes off the tree to right.

What is it i need do to get this. Is there a certain tutorial i can watch.

I have a general understanding of the the software and have been using it for about 6 months i am at around a medium skill level.

Sorry for bad grammer im on my phone

I have no idea what you're trying to say. Is the 'wintery scene' actually in the shot you took, or is it a separate shot? And you want them to be like blended together so half the scene is the pan shot and half is the other scene, or some sort of wipe with a roto'd out tree separating the two shots? Really weird wording

He is basically saying he wants to pan across a bunch of tree trunks and have one be very close to the lense, and have a winter scene on the other side of the trunk. Basically a unique transition.

This is pretty much is what ime looking for

the part i am having trouble on it taking the video on the left side of the tree away and putting the background (video clip) there

Rotoscope out the left (or whichever) side of the tree that you want to be the border (with everything left of it the other background) and then just place the other layer in the background, or animate it to move to match the pan if you want. pen tool or aes roto brush thing.

this isnt actually that complicated. all you need to do is layer the footage and use a mask that is keyframed.

for tutorials look up masking with the pen tool. I used to use this transition when i edited COD. there are a few cod based tutorials on this subject somewhere on youtube

try youtube, but if you still cant find anything on the subject pm me and ill send you a screen shot of a timeline where i did it. pretty basic transition though you shouldnt have trouble

gotta start somewhere. good base, there are lots of people that know what they are doing, tutorails for everything you could ever want. i admit a little childish, thats why i dont do it anymore, but the editing community surrounding that game is far larger than the one around skiing
