Advice On New Skis

Hi I am an advanced all mountain skier who can carve really well and can ski on any terrain. I am 15 years old and am 5 foot 4. I want to get into the freestyle skiing, but not only in the park, I am also interested in doing off-piste freestyle. I am 163 cm and have demoed a couple powder and carving skis but I could never find some where to demo freestyle skis. In the past I skied kids freestyle skis but they were extremely skinny and cheap. I want to get a ski that is within 90-105 mm under foot and that is not stiff since I want to learn butters. I also want it to be playful since my dad lets me borrow his carving skis for when I want to work on my form. I was looking into the Faction Candide 2.0, Armada Edollo, Armada ARV96, Faction Prodigy 2.0, and Volkl revolt 95. I was about to purchase the Candide but am still not sure since I do not have a place to demo them. What ski do you guys recommend and in what sizes. Thank you in advanced.

Faction 3.0 may be better for all mtn, also head Kore’s are fucken sick

I know that the 3.0 might be better but in Tahoe a get little powder and 108 under foot is way to big. Also I want to improve on freestyle which is my main goal this season. Would you recommend Edollo or CT 2.0 since I think those are the two I have narrowed it down to.

I honestly don’t know enough about the edollo to make a call on that, for what it’s worth I ski whitewater which has zero park and basically everyone skies all mountain and I’ve never seen anyone ripping the edollos. Pretty much everyone here skis 105+ but it’s pow 24/7 so... maybe take a look at the faction 2.0 is defs gonna do you well tho

Wish I was there! Thx for the insight.

I'd go with the CT 2.0 or ARV 96. Both would suit you well.

I'm a tad biaised as I just bought a pair of the 2.0.

Enjoy!

Have you skied them yet? I am just worried that I may be too light to butter and flex them since I am small (112 lbs 5'4"). For that reason only I feel like the Edollos might suit me better.

Well you're 15 and will quickly grow into them I'm sure.

I'm not familiar with the Edollo unfortunately but looking at its tech details, it would also suit you. Maybe more buttery but less all mountain if you still wish to charge side piste and the side country.

By the way, you're 15 and 163 cm but I'm sure in the next 2 years you'll grow by a fair margin. I'll look at a bigger ski, maybe 170+ cm. Longer skis will also help their all mountain abilities and will be more stable at speed.
