Advice needed - Whistler

I am taking a trip to whister with 4 of my friends in March. Whats the best way to get from Vancouver ariport to the mountain. We looked into renting a truck so we could pick up beer (lots of beer) and groceries on the way but it would have cost us 1300 bucks for the week which is just insane.

I don't know much about Vancouver car rentals though... Sorry. Hope that helps, I looked over all the directions and they all seem fine. A few of them might have traffic during rush hour.
 
haha i should have been a little more clear about that. I dont need directions. Just wondering if there are any good buses or car services out there.
 
I just read "best way to get from the airport to the mountain" wrong it seems. There is a greyhound bus service that comes from vancouver to whistler.

Hey buddy,
So you can either catch a shuttle from the Vancouver airport that will take you right up to Whistler or for a bit cheaper you can take a bus from the airport to the bus station on Terminal and Main in Vancouver and catch another bus up to Whistler. It just depends how much gear you have and what your timing is like... Check out greyhound.ca for their times. Hope that helps ya out a bit.
 
this sounds snooty, but it would save you a lot of cash, and you could arrive/leave drunk:

since you don't need the car at whistler anyway, call a private car service. i'm not saying a stretch limo, just a suburban for you+gear+beer. the driver when we went was totally down with stopping along the way in squamish. its also nice to not have to drive yourself.

also, are there any car rental agencies at whistler? you could rent in vancouver and drop off at whistler, and then do the opposite on the way back?

or you could just take the perimeter bus and buy shit at resort prices.
 
definately go greyhound. especially if your a student. i just got back and the bus cost me 27$ to the vancouver terminal then i shared a cab to the airport which cost me 8$ (32$ cab ride). much better than the 60$ pacific coach lines charges from whistler to the airport. it also wont take you that much longer doing it this way.
 
take the rav line to downtown and bus from there. rav is hella fast. dont worry about beer there is plenty in the town. going to save u money for beer and shit. costs about 40 dollars all together
