Advanced switch skiing?

i have started to work on my switch tricks lately. I already got the basics down for skiing switch, but I got problems looking over the same shoulder (left) and going straight down the inrun towards the kicker, when scissoring my skis to open up my shoulder.

I have watched hundreds of edits to find out, how I keep skiing straight looking over the same shoulder with scissored skis. It would be a lot easier, if I learned just to look over the same shoulder, instead of changing everytime I have to make a turn.

Thanks,

Oscar

I had a similiar issue and i got over it just by practicing switch skiing everytime i was on a normal run. Practice makes perfect.

im going to go do this now!

ahah yea but just practice makes perfect. i can do it looking 1 shoulder but im not good at it yet

i find it easy to stay looking over the same shoulder if i only scizzor a little. depending on how sharp you want to turn it doesnt take much. anything less than like a 6 inch scizzor you should be able to look over the same shoulder

Thanks. But take this example:

If you look over your left shoulder with scissored skis, how do you turn to the right down the slope?

When i am trying, i catch my outside ski's outside edge.

try skiing switch over the knuckle and popping little switch 180's, its what helped me ski/spin switch a while back

You mean like put more pressure on the inside edge, so the outside edge doesn't have contact with the snow?

a helpful tip once you get the feel of going switch is keep the skis parallel but sliding one foot behind you each time you turn.
you'll feel the edge digging into the snow, keep your head in a comfortable position and seeing everything in front (or behind you in this case)

heres a vid i found, the guy sounds like a weirdo but see how he carves switch toward the end of the edit:

I had the same problem but found it was because I was standing up to straight, try getting really low, I put my head side ways if I can't see fully behind me( hard to explain) hope it helps
