I have been editing on Adobe premier cc 2014 for a few months now, but all of a sudden the video playback in the program monitor will not play smoothly even at 1/8 resolution. When I playback the video in the program monitor the audio plays but the video is frozen. I've never had this problem before. Any thoughts?

Highlight the clip/clips you want to review/ watch. Then go to sequence and click render selection.

then that specific clip/clips will render and play properly.

It could be a problem with your computer and not the software, what are the specs on your computer? (CPU, RAM, GPU)

I have the same problem. I've been trying to figure it out

I have an

i7 4790k

20gb ram

gtx 970

I should be able to play back clips in 1/8th the quality

I have that happen sometimes, restart premiere see if that fixes it, if not restart your computer.

If the above methods fail, I would try cleaning your cache, re-open your project, and render. I bet that will do the trick.

I had premiere cc 17 installed and got the stuttering. I said screw it. I installed cc 15 and it works fine for me

What's your video formats, codec, frame rate?
