Adobe Photoshop Content-Aware Fill

Check out this video that has a sneak peak of a feature in the next photoshop. It looks pretty good, and will probably make everything a lot easier for people that aren't as good at photoshop (like me).

that is sweet!

sucks for people that were actually good at photoshop cuz everyone is now on a equal level hahaha

HOLY SHIT WAFFLES. MUST HAVE

and no joke, i literally just finished a report for my investment team on why adobe is a sick buy with CS5 as a product cycle play, 5 minutes before clicking on this thread. Now i know its an incredible buy.

or you could just learn how to take a picture properly... just sayin.

photoshop is overused to the point where its no longer photography.

digital art maybe. photography no.

im all for some exposure correction, white balance, whatever.

but when you start just erasing massive pieces of the photo, youd be better off just taking it the way you wanted in the first place.

Ben, I understand where you're coming from, but one pole, tree or even a leaf can mean a no-buy from a customer if you sell stock photography, this could "easily" change the situation in your advantage.

This is awesome tech, I saw that video yesterday. Its going to save me so much time on panoramas.

I cant wait to legitimately purchase photoshop cs5....

HOLY JESUS FUCKING TITS

i was thinking that it was doing pretty simple things until they took the tree out. crazy shit.

I think I paid around $330 at MSU for it.
And the editing thing is up to your discretion. This just makes it easier, which will save me hours. Photo manipulation has been debated since the late 1800's, so arguing about what is permissible is beating a long-dead horse. I am fucking stoked for CS5, and will definitely be buying it if the tools are improved that much.

Holy shit, that was incredible. Though I'm a little skeptic..

When I first started watching the video, I was also thinking "are you fucking kidding me, everyones going to be a professional photographer with this shit now". But you can't take this tool and make a poorly composed, exposed, all around shitty photo into a good one. A good photo is a good photo, regardless of the manipulation you can do to the image.

Anyways, we've only seen this effect on a shitty quality youtube video. What's going to happen when you print an image 16x20 with that kind of retouching done to it?

I don't know, we'll see come April whether or not how awesome this really is.

really? i coulda sworn id seen it for like 200 online.

but yeah, im considering it too, it does look sweet.

im still on cs3 lol

What I think and what actually happened can be pretty different sometimes, but I think it was around that. I dunno, go stop by the bookstore sometime and check, I just look away and hold out my card when it comes to things like this.

yeah, i was thinking of that too when I saw this video. Its still pretty amazing what this photoshop can do compared the the one out right know though.

Guarantee you it takes a beast of a computer to run that, they were probably using your top of the line, 8core mac type thing and it wouldn't surprise me if they sped up the progress bar as well, that last fill for example, i don't think so, don't believe it could of been that quick with the way stuff works right now.

Granted it is kind of cool, but you're going to have to wait a while before you can begin to think about using ps exactly like in this video.

I would like to officially thank the original Poster, due to your post, Adobe was brought to my attention and my investment fund just picked up a nice order. Karma For U
