Adjusting Bindings

I got new boots and I was just wondering if adjusting griffons to fit the new boot is something that is easily done or if I should have a shop do it. I'm adjusting from 27 to 27.5 if that means anything.
 
Just take it to a shop, it's simple but without making sure your forward pressure is correct you could mess yourself up pretty bad.

A lot of shops will do it for free, or charge you like $10.. It'll be worth it, and you can have them show you how to check the bindings next time you change something
 
What boots? Your BSL is probably the same. Most manufacturers only change the shells when you jump up whole sizes. Meaning the only difference between 27 and 27.5 from most companies is the liner. I believe Scarpa jumps up on the half size however. Look at the inside heel of both of your boots. They should have the bsl listed. If it is the same you are probably good to go.

I have done it on my own but I would much rather have someone who does that everyday do it for me just because I would trust it more and for me it's free
 
ha, its not free, a place is providing u with a service, just pay the 20$ or so that it costs and be on the safe side
 
Actually it could be correct. Like he said, most companies use the same shell for each half size and only change the liner (so a 27 and 27.5 of the same boot would have the same BSL). Having said that, BSL changes between boot manufacturers. My old Garmont touring boots were 27 shells (actually 'size' 27.5) and had a 306 BSL. When I upgraded to Dynafiddles, I went down to a 26 shell with 302 BSL because the 27 shells had a BSL of 312 mm.

I hope that made sense how I explained it. Basically, if OP changed boot manufacturer then he should take the stuff to a tech to adjust the binders (and they shouldn't have to remount...just move the heelpiece accordingly), but if he stayed with the same manufacturer then there is a decent chance that the BSL did not change and he would be fine (assuming the binders were correct beforehand).
 
Just turn the screw above the heel track back a bit. Put in boot. The screw needs to be flush with the heel piece for correct forward pressure.
