Adding a car to insurance policy

I am still under my parents auto insurance policy. as of now we have 3 cars. i have some money saved up and was looking to buy a used car around 3-4k...how much will adding an additional car to an existing policy cost?
 
Call the insurance company, all companies are different. If the car is in your name, and you're under 18, judging by your post you are, then its gonna be a lot, but if its in your parents name but you drive it, much cheaper for most companies
 
just my mom's insurence with state farm was 1,800 a year for one car, then i got added to her plan and we moved to gieco and got a deal for both our cars for 1,400 a year

you just got to shop around and see where you can get the most discounts with the best coverage, most insurence companys have the same baseline insurence and the discounts are what really brings the price down
