Actual USB update..possible?

YO NS.
So I got an ipad like the week it came out, and can only connect it to my moms laptop for music.I run an older iMac, with snow leopard software, but the USB's are not new enough for it.Is it even possible to..i guess update those, or no?

There's nothing wrong with your USB ports. It should work fine.

you can update the ports on a pc pretty easily, idk about a mac

iPad requires USB 2.0 (says so in the specs), if your iMac is very old it only has USB 1.x.

I don't think it's possible to upgrade the USB ports without a serious hack, because for example the iMac G4 motherboard doesn't support it at all.

If your iMac has WiFi, and you are willing to jailbreak your iPad, you could sync over WiFi instead (http://www.getwifisync.com/).
