ACDF surgery?

Hey guys. So I broke my neck pretty bad this summer longboarding it sucked a lot and I needed to have and ACDF surgery on vertebrae 3-4. I'm wondering if anyone here has had a similar incident and what the long term effects are. I love skiing more than anything in the world and I'm worried that it's gonna hold me back a lot because not gonna lie it hurts a fucking ton. I just can't see myself not heading to the mountain everyday to send it as hard as I can. Catching air and laying tricks on skis is pretty much everything I live for. When I'm not doing it, I'm thinking about it. When I'm not thinking about it, I'm watching edits of people doing it. When I'm not watching edits, I'm drawing pictures of it. I've blown out my right knee and dislocated my shoulder skiing and i don't regret it at all it is 10000% worth it in every way. Having to let this part of my life go would absolutely crush me so I'm hoping to hear from someone that went through this and was able to continue skiing the way we love to.

I know this is hard and I'm in the exact situation..I don't know how Im not gonna ski this winter but let me tell you something no matter how much you love something you cant be blinded by it. You should take a year off and I mean a year...that's probably what your doctor said...if its worse it could be your whole life.....be glad your not a quad. I know how you feel I've been struggling mentally to deal with the fact I'm usless/always in pain and the fact I can't ski. I broke my neck 3 months ago from today...I'll be out of the brace in 3 weeks if im lucky...only skiing I'll be doing is super light and that's if I'm lucky....you got to live long enough to get those Sr. discounts at Denny's bro...my situation and mentality is so similar besides the surgery and injury...message me if you want to talk more.
