About to buy the allplay from jskis

Was wondering if anyone owns a pair or knows of a guy. Good stories/bad? Been researching for a few weeks now and think those are the ones I would like to get

My brother got a pair of The whip it tropic thunders and they were garbage. The edges and sidewall held up but after about a week of moderate skiing and the top sheets were trashed. I think because there sorta "custom" the top sheets are not as durable.

Unless topsheet printing has gone drastically downhill nowadays with the material they print on, your statement at the end is inaccurate as fuck. If cosmetics are important to you, go buy L'Oreal.

Did I once say cosmetics were important? What happens when the top sheet comes off? You guessed it, the wood will start to get wet, it will bubble and freeze, lastly it will probably rot. Within the first 2 days he had chips and cuts in the top sheet that went into the wood and it started to get wet.. That is when he shipped them back and got a full refund. Just because skis are custom and unique does not mean they are the best in the market.

You're thinking of a delam, not topsheet chipping. 2 different things. Topsheet chipping happens on every single freaking ski, especially sandwich constructed skis. If you're worried just bevel with a sander.

ahh okay your right, it was delaming, the wood was exposed and getting wet.

I can't speak to the Allplay but can tell you the J Ski Metal has been an rock solid ski for me so far in all regards. I've pushed them really hard here in the Rocky Mountains on all sorts of terrain with no signs of whimpishness or damage whatsover after 30 days logged, though I'm also not bangin' em up in jib parks and the like. Again, I can't speak for the Allplays but IMO the Metals have proven to be a very high quality and well made product that slay as hard as they play, and the customer service has been top notch such that in the off chance of any problems, Jason would likely address these both promptly and directly. All said, I'm a big fan.
