Ability to delete your own threads?

I am sure this has come up before, but why is the reasoning behind not being able to do it? A lot of times we make a dumb ass thread when your high or drunk and you just want it gone. Maybe you should get 1 thread delete a month or something. anyone?
 
I mean, it could be a good idea but I think it would mean a complete overhall of the forum, which would take months of work. Just pm a mod, one is usually always online.
 
Theoretically its not *that* bad once we're doing an overhaul (which is actually happening soon).

Thing is, most times this has come up people state they don't want a self delete/self edit feature. They like the fact that once its up on NS, you committed to it.
 
Exactly this. If we had the ability to delete threads a lot of the good threads would probably get deleted because people realize how stupid they are. Like the solid 7 thread.
 
There would probably also be an influx of horrible threads / posts if people can quickly delete or edit them.

You sure do make a shitload of dumb threads but if you were able to delete them, noone would be able to see them. Just pm a mod on the next day what you want delteted. Same shit happenend to me when some friends messed with my account, I had to pm the mods to delete everything
 
This thread has been made so many times, do you not get that if you could delete your own thread then you could just delete epic threads?
 
There are positives and negatives to both sides of the issue.

I'd like to have control over my threads. Especially if I create a thread that is asking a question, I get my question answered, then I delete it. Or if I made a mistake, things could be fixed or edited.

-The edit feature would be really nice, I see countless threads every single day with mistakes, and the first post in the thread has nothing to do with the thread, just calling out the mistake was made. People imbed videos incorrectly all day long as well.

I guess most of the negatives deal with irresponsible people making stupid threads and then deleting them quickly.

When I think about it, there could have been legendary threads that didn't exist, because they could have been deleted previously.

But I don't agree that when some 12 y/o kid posts something really dumb, and then people start ripping the shit out of him, and he cant delete it after he realizes he made a mistake.

 
I think BST threads should be allowed to be closed or maybe deleted. The sale is over, and its annoying as shit dealing with people pming me 6 months later even after i posted that i was done.

However, nowhere else. Imagine if Skiierman could change his faunt.
